Isidee: Sobbing On A Sunday Morning

Favourite this post

I wanted to avoid seeing my beloved Mama Aggie crying for Letti after I read the monthly sneak preview last month. BUT this past Sunday I watched the show and anyone that makes me cry that much, on a storyline, deserves to be given every award in Africa. Seriously!

I didn't even like Letti. I wanted her to go visit her ex-husband Dumisani and rekindle the flame. I want Farrow and Dineo to meet this demise, not Mama Aggies child! Couldn't Farrow and Dineo have had the accident together... Head-on collision kinda thing, no witnesses! I digress...

Agnes
My beloved Agnes (Keketso Semoko) and her Zebediele

Those Isidingo writers and producers are so on point… The ER24 ambulance coming to save Letti, the car smashed on the tree and the way it all happened with Mama Aggie’s church choir as backup while her child died. Everything looked so real, (apologies for comparing) but there was no gloved men killing her in a fake hospital like genrubbish!

Meme
Vusi (Meshack Mavuso) and his other cheating buddy Parsons (Love u lots, Meme and Mtshepana - you guys know!)

Vusi is to blame for this!! That damn affair was over a long time ago, he could have come clean to Letti to make sure that she knows what he did and is given a chance to forgive him. Now I have to watch my beloved Agnes burying her princess!! Her sobs after being told that Letti was gone broke me… Yoh! I was crying so hard King K cane and told me “These people are doing what the script says, they are just doing their job. They will get paid for all this” Eish! My man knows how to put a smile on my face.

Lettie
Lettie (Lesego Motsepe) and her ex-husband Dumisani

How are you finding the storyline? I am lovin’ it! I watched tonight as mama Aggie told Neo about the mother’s passing and sitting on the mattress… Just as Tswana tradition does it. When she walked into the room to tell Neo, I wondered if the writer’s would improvise but they did it exactly as traditionally done by whispering to the child while the child is asleep.

Anyways, I needed to say I appreciate the hard work that Isidingo writers take to bring us the show. You guys never disappoint!! I love the fact that when something happens that needs other parties to come in, you organize and are not lazy to call in ER24, the police, a real priest. Even my priest has been on the show to bury Cherel’s daughter… He was quiet the star on Sunday after that episode. Thank you! I

The Endemol people are doing something right on THIS show!

Excellent writing Sego, thank u for a fabulous blog on a Windy Dirty Tuesday morning *on my way to work I couldn't help but notice how the municipal strike needs to come to an end ASAP, I have never seen Durban this dirty. I respect road sweepers even more after realising how much of a difference they make in regards to cleanliness of our city.*

Neway, moving right along to Isidee, last week I had a very hectic week, so i only managed to watched the omnibus on Sunday and damn was I impressed.

How are you finding the storyline?
I am loving the storyline, I am so glad Letti left the way she did, coz if they didn't kill her she would probablly return someday with her plain ghoda hairsyles and fake smile. So goodbye Letti. I was impressed with the fabulous acting from MaAgnes. I so wish generubbish could lern from the people of Isidee. I must say, the thing that fascinates me the most about this soapie, is how they always manage to incorperate our current affairs, together with the storyline, watching Isidingo makes u relate to ur day-2-day life. That is so good coz the soapie is a good reflection of Mzansi, for instance the cheating men, HIV+ people. I  must say, welldone to the writers!!!

"a real priest. Even my priest has been on the show to bury Cherel’s daughter… He was quiet the star on Sunday after that episode. Thank you!"
And u u can tell they use true professionals by the quality that they produce in the end. Sego, do u know if ur priest was paid for this, or was it just for the love of preaching the word of God?

BTW, I couldn't help but think that perhaps Tumisho Masha is also the face of Easy Waves *alongside Pastor Benjamin Dube*, with that shine and the s-curl in the pic above!!!

That episode was moving indeed. Even the episode where Lettie went to Vusi's office, i felt her pain especially when she said "ungang'sondele, ungang'sondele!!" tightening her voice like that!!!!!! shoo!!!! i have always wanted her to leave, i felt guilty after seeing the pain she left behind. Hai!!!!! things will never be the same between the Matabane and the Moletsane families.shame Neo!!!

U see now, Lettie died and Nandipha is busy acting like makoti, i am sure that Thandi will like to be there for her man but she cant, mcim!! This shows us that if you take someones man be rest assured that the first wife will always be the "main character" in the family. Hai!!!!!

Why mara!!? Dammit!! Had another sobbing ugly cry today!! They must stop hurting my Mama Aggie like this!! This is genog!! enuff!

AND that Vusi!! being all traditional and telling mama Aggie he is following tradition by allowing his scumbag of an uncle to decide to bury Letti in KZN!!! Haaaibo! Someone needs to give Mama Aggie her phone back to deal with that no-good son-in-law of hers... tjerrrrrr!! AND he blames Paul for his mess!! Coward!

No Maan! Isidingo writers must stop now... This is too much! I can't keep crying like this for poor mama Aggie... Hai! Le rona ra nyala-nyala maan! (We just get married) now traditions clash and the perpetrator is now a traitor to the Matabane family...

30 Sep 2008 14:48

WHERE ARE THE GOSSIPS WHEN YOU NEED THEM? Stella must start telling everyone about the last time she saw Letti breathing. She must tell Mama Aggie NOU!!

Molilo
30 Sep 2008 15:19

You know I thought very hard about what the Moletsane's suggested. I thought of my friend who is married ko Namibia, if it happens she pass away she will be buried there. That will be very sad for her mother. But this is life we must learn to accept the situations. I hope my future hubby will be residing not far away from my home town so that my mother wont go thru what mama Aggey is going thru now.

Isidingo is really teaching us a lot of things. Vusi is trying to find a replacement of his guilty feelings, unfortunately Paul will be the culprit. Hopefully Tilly and Nandipha will spill the beans.

Stella she will definately talk when we do not know coz even Maggie knows as Stella tried telling her. When Vusi gets on Maggies nerve she will ask Stella the story and tell Paul.

Vusi's uncle has hidden agendas and uses tradition to get them achieved & Vusi is just going along...

Cande
01 Oct 2008 02:21

You know Segololo that happens with most families, it is very painful to see someone you love hurting like that because of tradition..
There is always fights about when will the dead be buried, where will they be buried  and everyone wants to be in charge...
Both families always want to have the final words, and the poor spouse is left hurting!!!
It happened with my mother last year when my father passed on,we stay in MFK but he was buried back in the rural areas(where he originates from) which is the same place my late sister was buried.. he passed away on monday and they wanted him to be buried the on the 2nd saturday following the monday he passed away, which obviously my mother's family refused on hence he got buried on sunday...
My mother is NOT even saying gore yena when does she want to be buried, which means i will be the one hurting should she pass on because i am the eldest child..She is not even in good terms with her late husband's family but she is still married in that family..I think she must write it down where she & my lil brother should have their final resting place because i dont think i will be able to handle all the family hidden agendas..

Molilo
01 Oct 2008 02:37

Unfortunately u will also be buried in the rural areas since they managed to bury ur dad there with u it is compulsory. They will say something like next to their fathers resting place.

01 Oct 2008 02:47

Mara is Vusi's family following tradition or being nasty?  Mma Matabane should just be strong and try to fight them, it just does not make sense.  Yes they are married but now since she is dead, death has separated them.  What is up with Vusi?  Shame Thandi, Parsons is just drifting apart from her.

Segololo
01 Oct 2008 02:53

01 Oct 2008 03:06

Shouldnt Vusi have any say in this, i mean dont you leave your mother and father to start your own family. ive always thought that should i die my husband should decide where i should get buried, preferably the nearest graveyard next to where our house is, the same with my husband i should be able to decide where he will be buried. eish family in laws...u get to c their true colours when your partner dies. mxmh

I am sure that Parsons will go back to Nandipha again, phela it's bound to happen. Shame Thandi!!! I just wish men can make up their minds yazi!!!

Eish Cande! with my mother it was the same thing, they wanted to bury her in Polokwane imagine, i mean we only go there once a year in Christmas, it would have been hard for me, but my dad put his foot down and said that is my wife so I will decide where she gets buried, they told him about all the bad lucks im gonna have because of his decision and that my dad ba moloile, wara wara but my grandmother told them where to get off!!!

So my point is that, Vusi should take that decision, I mean they live at horison deep why shouldnt she be buried there?? nx! Vusi owes it to the Matabanes to make a decision that will be in their favour especially after what he has done to her. this is just too painful you are right Sego they should stop it now!!

Shem Thandi it has been a long time coming.  You don't take someone's husband and get away with it, it will come back to bite now and again. She must deal with it, that's the baggage that comes along with what she did. I really don't feel sorry for her, imagine what Nan went through it's nothing what she is feeling now.

I'm also getting a will, there is no ways I am getting buried in Venda. My family and son are in WTB.

Segololo
01 Oct 2008 03:54

What makes this storyline horribly hard for me (apart from Mama aggies' pain, of course) is that I believe in visiting all my late loved ones graves to pay my respects and "have a chat"... now the Matabane's may have the same beliefs and they did not even dream of their daughter being married in Thaba Nchu (where the family is from) but were willing to bury her in Horizon deep. It is central for KZN (if Vusi moves there) and Thaba Nchu (where Mama Aggie and Zeb will retire one day, I think) they can go visit Lettie... BUT now travelling from Thaba Nchu to Natal for them will be trauma, the loss all over again.

Did Vusi pay for Neo when he lobola'd Letti? did Dumisani agree to his child being raised a Moletsane? I can't seem to recall this storyline...  BECAUSE it means that Neo will also be buried there even though he is not a Moletsane

Nonny

Isidingo has this way of creating the best dramatic scenes..like when cherel was held  hostage at the TV station...by that township girl..what ever happened to her-maybe she shud come back and replace Letti

anywyas I dont think Letti shud have been killed..maybe she should have gone to NewYork and come back after a year or so...with a twang..and a weave...LOL   THEn we would have ben realy annoyed for her to be kiled....OKWAMANJE uVUSI uyangidina..kwangempela  especially after I read an interview.on Sunday.where he pompously claims to BREATH LIFE into his charecter...COME THE F**K ON.......the guy is just NJE!! when it come to acting...he's NO Hlomla .......

<<Neway I think Dineo is gonna commit suicide>> I can't wait! eish! that sounds bad but I am feeling much better just from reading that statement. Reminds me of the feelings I had when Cherel's daughter committed suicide. I was only emotional when  I saw Len and Dup crying.. I wonder how she will do it. Knowing Isidee writers it won't be pills or "invisibly jumping like the genrubbish actress" but something hectic...  Cherel's daughter also jumped at the mine shaft but we were shown her take those steps and overlooking the jump area...

Will this bring Cherel for an episode to come gloat to Barker about losing everyone? I liked seeing Barker last night feeling some guilt over not keeping in touch with Letti after Dumisani messed him up. It was touching how he said "they both died so young".

I am really dissapointed in Harriet... She was left all that money to keep Barker in check and now she is his puppet, doing everything that Leoni wanted her to stop Barker from doing. She's starting to pi$$ me off and she may get on my hitlist soon...

Funny with Karabo is that she made me believe that Optimum is the best product for my hair! Call me naive but I'm going to try it because she said that it is the only product in the market that has something that helps to strengthen hair...I know I'm blonde at times!

he he he ...yesterday I was station(radio) hopping when I caught Thomas talking about Isideee. He was saying that he was not convinced about  Letti/Paul story line at all..he went on and on about how he has never seen Paul driving a car before nthe first time he does (or they show us  him driving), he kills Letti. He said this is pathetic n so convenient....I didn't get to hear what the listeners said bcause I can't stand Thomas n his show. Nna I luved that episode shem and I'm watching isidee elke dag, sorry Rhythm...

On the issue of Lettie's burial place, the Matabanes are just playing dump. Fine, it must be difficult for them but they know gore lebitla la mosadi ke bogadi. As a woman when you get married and find out that your in-laws are witches, you need to join them n practice the craft (figuratively). Letti is no longer a Matabane but a Moletsane, so everything must be done the Moletsane way. As an African you don't get married to ur hubby only but to ur hubby's family. that is why o rerwa (there is negotiations) before u get hitched
