Go bungee in Soweto

The largest landmark in Soweto will soon come alive with the introduction of bungee jumping in Orlando.

Construction and training has been underway in the past months in order to turn the two towers into yet another tourist attraction in Soweto.

The Orlando Towers have not been operational for a while but now people from all walks of life will be swinging between the towers for a breathtaking and adrenalin rush adventure- a bungee jump 100 meters from the ground.

Alternatively you can jump-off the rim and swing inside the towers and experience a super-heat steam rising to the sky.

abseiling, rap jumping and zip line into the Orlando Dam willl sonn be introduced.

Open times : Wed, Thurs, Frid, Sat and Sun
Entrance Fee: R10.00
Swinging Fee:R350.00

i am afraid of heights so i wont be going there any time soo, but if you do go please come back to share the experience here on TVSA.

has any of you bungee jumped before, please share?

I sooo would love to, i'm not actually scared of heights more than i would like to have the equipment double-checked first.....i work at the SABS afterall...hihihihihiiii.......

I am Libra!! Would lurrrrrve to go ! - sounds thrilling. I've done the bungee jump at Bloukans and it was so incredibly brilliant. It's crazy-making at the start just before you jump and incredibly WOW and trippy as it's happening.

It's an experience you can never forget and won't ever regret - I'd highly, highly recommend it. If I was in Jozi I'd SO be there to try it - reckon it's closest thing to flying free.

awww Libra, i didn't know this article was up before i saw your reply to it.

I have never bungee-jumped. it's one of those things at the back of my mind that i want to do OOONNEEE DAAAAY-haven't decided when exactly but i am hoping it'll happen soon.

Good thing this is happening though. I am tired of the two towers' association with SOWETO TV-at least now there'll be somthng else to think abt!

my boss bungee jumped off victoria falls for his 40th birthday.he says it was the scariest thing he ever did.he felt like he was going to die but was overjoyed afterwards for being alive.he had this whole ,i love the world feeling afterwards.basically he scared me off.good luck to the brave souls who are going to jump.may the experience nirvana,i like my feet irmly on the ground

would also love to bungee jump but will first start with the little one next to me first( Gateway-DBN). i just hav to find someone to do it with me coz i aint doing it alone am so scared of heights.

Felfel, I also jumped and its was kak scarry,, mara fun,,i cudnt walk properly for some time and punny was hurting cos of the safety harnnes,,i think it was too tight.. some ppl chickened out thou,but it was FUNNN..go for it ntombazana, so good luck.

Hi all, i am new here!!! and i am a adrenaline junkee; i went bunjee @ Krugerdorp & was told it was the semi-smallest in JHB... And i hear of Power Park i would so love to do it. After all Carlton Centre is the Highest Bunjee in JHB so i was told... Does anybody know of any skydiving events or free fall thingy :)...

LOL @ Toxic, no dear, my bday is only on the 22nd so i still have enough time to collect those bananas for the monkeys, since i have no one to go jump with, my friends are sooo uncultured in these things, lol
One is scared she'll hit one of the towers when she jumps, i dont know wat she thinks is sooo special about her that she'd be the only one to hit against the tower, go figure, so its gon be me, wine & the monkeys....lol
