African world cup my butt

We are hosting the world cup in less than two years, funny enough the theme for the world cup is "ke nako, celebrating Africas humanity". How ironic and sad is that. How are the Nigerians, Senegalese,Angolans and all fellow African counterpoints going to move around SA in 2010 once the violence has stopped.Even now, the world cup qualifiers are starting next month, are those countries willing to bring in supporters into a country were people can be burned for being a foreign national.
I think this whole fiasco has shamed and put a huge dent on most of the good PR we've been getting as the rainbow nation and I think the mobs that are killing everyone really dont care about that.
But I think as South Africans, who care about the image of the country and the country itself we need to change the perception and climate of hate and violence thats prevailing right now. How?I dont mean lets do one to one fights with the hooligans but lets fight fire with water. For one, most of the victims have been up rooted from their homes, carrying what little they could to the make shift centres. Theres a need for food, for clothing and probably a sympathetic ear.
I believe as ordinary South Africaness these are things we can easily give and if we do show our Ubuntu to the victims , we may still turn the tide, we can still show the word that South Africans, although flawed. Are genuiely caring and loving individuals who care.Who are corncened about their fellow African brothers and sisters who are victimised.
Our general history as Africaness sis well known for being communal, self giving and altruistic, lets not sacrifice those ideals at the feet of government. And wait for Thibos to do something, its our country lets take responsibility for it and act.
At work we are currently collecting food and clothing for the immigrants from employees and I think if we can have more similar things it can be something that we can all be proud of and show to the world.
We can still proof that slogan,"ke nako, celebrating africas humanity" lets start showing it

The Aussies have launched another bid to host the world cup and this time Sepp Blatter has accepted.

Oh Bafana will be headed to Abuja at the end of the month and Joel Santana pulled out for security reasons, a million a month can’t make him go. He needs another one to reconsider.

Just joking, but on a serious note, everything said here has been said. I doubt anyone needs encouragement to stand up and act.

It's a pity this is happening in SA, but a hungry person who feels let down by govt does not care, we may try to help those affected but the powers that need be especially the President should address these mobs attacking thr foreigners, maybe this will dampen tempers...if the foreigners retaliate then we'll have a civil war in our backyards. the mobsters also need someone to listen to their cries .... there are claims that there is a third force behind these attacks and that the foreigners will hit back....if they dare ...then the country will be distabilised, so muc for fighting for freedom!!!
the call to control immigration laws and borders was ignored now we have a crisis in our hands. abelungu are laughing at us....blacks fighting blacks, it's sad!

Already the BBC is feasting on this 'crisis" SA is fighting reporting inaccurately, on Monday they claimed 32 ppl had been killed while the figures were at 22, fine one dead is too many though...
We will host the World Cup with no or few hiccups, still have faith that govt will find a solution speedily.
but I am against the ARMY being called in to assist the police....this will mean more wife will lose husbands, kids will be orphans...etc
