I hope this was never done before, otherwise I must take a cover...........

How do you tell when you have a bad breath, I'm saying this because I cant stand it but then again what if mine also stinks, I've asked my hb, friend but they all say it smells fine, but I remember, my son (7 then) said he's not sure.

Is it a problem for evryone or am I just too obsessed with it? I've dumped a lot of guys bbecause of it. I would get a stomach ache after kissing them from all the gems. Rite now I have mr roll-on, he's cute and all but his breath is starting to give me troubles, I can't kiss him no more. Pity, he makes me laugh so much.

Do you think I should tell him and what do I say without hurting him.

If u worried about ur own breath, just volunteer urself a trip to the dentist and get also get a non-alcoholic mouthwash. I've been there 4 times already this year alone (some root-cannal treatment). But i know that treatment continues when i get home (brushing & flossing twice a day).

lick the back of your hand, let it dry and then smell it. As for brother man, keep breath mints handy or suggest a joint visit to the dentist -eish it's a toughie cause you can never break the news diplomatically and NOT embarrass the man.

I do visit the dentist, maybe once a month if I dont forget and I also do all the flossing, tongue brushing, etc. But, you'll never know for sure, I mean, I sometimes read stories about someone who does all that but still have halitosis and they would say it's from the stomach or the throat.

I hate bad breath, I move really close to a potential 'screw' so that I can smell his mouth. My friends think it's an obsession.

Nowadays I just tell whoever am gonna be rolling with ukuthi afike eqhanyelwe so that we can skip the kissing part.

Nosakhe its a tough, there is this beautiful and kind soul that I would not  like to see hurt and he suffers from the same problem and i cannot bring myself to be the bearer of bad news, have thought of buying the appropriate stuff but it is stil a bit much.

His case is beyond mouthwash and mints but rather serious medical help that would include hospitalisation and a lengthy treatment. The base of his teeth have turned yellow & looks like they are going to break, he's still a virgin at 30 and i think the bad breath problem has contributed towards his lack of female companionship. I travel with him on my liftclub and the car just turns into sewage point once he steps in. He is a lovely soul and have never met such a kind man in my life and still dont know why things like that happen to such wonderful God fearing people, why cant some streetsmart asshole have bad breath but an angel who would not even hurt a fly. Toxy its not easy girl.

At some stage in my life, i was staying with a man and he had this breath problem. I decided i needed to do something after changing his toothbrush many times with no progress (under fasle pretence ofcos). I just made an appointment for him with a dentist without telling him and he went only to find that he had abcess in his ear and was affecting his breath, it had to be drained. So a toothbrush never would have fixed it.

@ Cngle...So when the car turns into a sewage..bathini abanye abantu in the car...are they not passing comments to the poor soul, or they know and used to the smell. I really feel sorry for him, because it doesn't mean , he doesn't brush his teeth..he has underlying problems, maybe originating from his stomach.

poor thing...am sure he brushes many times..thinking it will go away. I would suggest he visits a clinic in highlands north, they help people with his problems. (their products called Thera Breath)Their adverts used to be in the sunday times ...or ask him to buy mint herbs at pick 'n pay , he mustn't use the mouth washes..just boil that mint herb and drink it more often...and see what happens!!

Good- luck to him!!!!

Ya,this is problem.Nna i told my ex straight, like:babes there is no easy way to tell you this but i;m just gonna be straight to the point.Just know that i am telling you this beacuse i care a hell lot about you, although this might come out harsh. You have a breath problem and it has started to affect our relationship cause i am a bit reluctant to kiss you.I think we should visit he dentist to find out what the problem is and attend to it.I will go with you and be there all the way

Well i could see that his ego was seriously bruised but he thanked me for my honesty and we attended to the problem

Reenegade, where you at???What's with the silence treatment????

Cngle or u can make like u have a problem with ur own breath, and ask him if he knows of any good dentists and then take the topic from there, that way if he's aware of his problem he won't feel alone. Then you can ask him questions like, when did he last go and maybe he mite come out to you.............hopefully.
Otherwise its a serious problem, i know that kind of smell where u feel like u could just puke from it and the person just continues talking loudly in ur face....eeeuuuwwwwww

Noks you rock! is the place is Jozi (highlands North near Orange Grove)? He is such a good man that we are all worried about him and we just want him to get laid so bad, even suggessted that he gets an escort. We have gotten used to the smell and have learnt to live with it. I have a boy child i just worry that something similar may occur to my child later in life. If i can just have the courage to tell him, i will probably cook and invite him, he loves my food LOL.

Noks we love him so much that we cannot even say one bad thing about him, he just has no bad bone in his body and its hard to find people like that.

Nosakhe this is very serious to people suffering from it as it tampers with their self esteem.  Pls apply some diplomacy when trying to tell him.

I also once had an x whose breath started to stink from nowhere. And this one day I couldn't take it any longer and asked him if he had brushed his teeth in the morning and he said yes (obviously),I then told him that perhaps he should go back home and brush again coz there was a foul smell coming from his mouth. He was kinda hurt but thanked me for telling him. After a while the smell continued and I told him I was gonna go with him to the doctor so he can be checked out,we went and the dr found that he had an infection in his stomach and everything was sorted out.

Mina guys I can't understand why it would be hard to *advise* a friend to do something about their breath problem (or any other problem for that matter). If u are really are rally good friends Hlehle, u should know the perfect approach to tackle this sensative matter.

@ NONY u should know the perfect approach to tackle this sensative matter.

I know gal its very difficult and sensitive this matter but you right i see no reason to hesitate to let  my bst freind know abt her breath i can even by her a mouth wash in chemist as present as i will tell her that i also use it. Noba ndiyaxoka there many ways angamapprocher ngayo.

@ Linomtha, somtimes lies are not even neccessay, all u do is say: "Mngani, I saw that's it best uzwe lento ngami ukuze ubone ukuthi ngikuthanda ngempela coz I know that abanye abantu bazokuhleba and they won't have the courage to face you".........at first she might be angered, but after a while she will be grateful that wamusiza!!!!

Good Morning Lovely Peeps,

This is a very sensitive issue, I'm sorry but I did not read all the responses so please excuse me if I'm sounding like a parrot (repeating responses). Good!!!

1. People there's a disease called HALITOSIS, in some people no matter how many times you brush or floss your mouth, it manages to catch up with the person.

 2. Enye into enukayo ziimpumlo xa umntu ene tonsils (bad smelling nose due to tonsils) which results in bad smelling mouth. Due to close proximity of these organs (nose and mouth) the person will smell horrible if its due to these two conditions I have mentioned.
3. Abanye ngamazinyo amdaka a worse abolileyo especially the last teeth at the very back of the mouth because neither floss nor toothbrush can reach there. Even if you use a mouth wash, if you use it on TARTAR infested teeth the result will be a dead dog smell emanating from your mouth..

Conclusion and solution.  Oral B Peppermint drops available at clicks for R15 and mouth spray.

Hope this is helpful!!!!

@Spo.. the problem with them is the food they eat. They very spicey food therefore the smell when mixed with the body fluids brings that horrible smell, cause its coming thru their pores. Others its witchcraft.... been there (spell of bad odour)
