What Not To Wear 1 (Rebroadcast)
Premiere date: Thursday, 8 May at 09h45
Runs Mondays to Fridays

What Not To Wear, presented by fashion writers Trinny Woodall and Susannah Constantine, has one aim: to transform ugly ducklings of fashion into stylish swans.

Where best friends and family fear to tread, Trinny and Susannah are the foot soldiers of truth, particularly when it comes to what looks good and what doesn't.

Friends and family are co-conspirators as the shows test subjects get secretly filmed before being given £2000 to spend on new clothes. Their buying spree is scrutinised by the two presenters via satellite TV.

In order to stop them from straying away from the stylish path, Susannah and Trinny intervene in crucial moments to stop the poor victim from buying certain ‘offending’ garments, offering some honest and up front advice along the way.

The subject shares their views and feelings throughout the programme and at the end of the show, Vanessa takes Trinny and Susannah through a guided tour of her new wardrobe.

Life On Mars
Premiere date: Tuesday, 13 May 2008 at 20h30

John Simm plays Sam Tyler, a driven and ambitious young detective who is determined to keep the streets of 21st Century Manchester safe. However, the hunt for a serial killer becomes a personal vendetta when Sam suspects his girlfriend, and colleague, Maya (Archie Panjabi) has been kidnapped by the very man he's tracking down.

Then, after a near fatal car accident Sam wakes up, dazed and confused, in 1973. Struggling to understand what's real, Sam immediately questions if he’s gone back in time, is in a coma, or has simply just gone insane.

What follows is Sam's 21st century account of Seventies life feeling like a fish out of water. He must come to terms with an unfamiliar environment – an archaic CID unit where, using his modern know-how, Sam becomes integral to the investigation process, learning to adapt to the team’s old-fashioned technologies and etiquettes.

Throughout the eight-part series, Sam works on some of the hardest cases he has ever been involved with, not least because he's faced with a world where witnesses are regularly intimidated, it takes two weeks to process forensics and his colleagues will nail their suspect whether they have the evidence or not.

Sam's new boss is hard-nosed DCI Gene Hunt (Philip Glenister), who gets results by trusting his gut instinct and, all too often, sheer brute force.

In episode one it becomes clear to Sam that the killer who is holding Maya in 2005 started his killing spree here and now in the early Seventies. Could catching the perpetrator be the key to Sam's return to the future?

Dalziel and Pascal 9 (Rebroadcast)
Premiere date: Wednesday, 14 May at 21h30

The blunt-talking, politically incorrect Andy Dalziel (Warren Clarke) once again pairs up with his younger, fast-tracked side-kick, Inspector Peter Pascoe (Colin Buchanan), for a crime-solving marriage of opposites.

Four more murder mysteries take the duo from a private zoo, where they unearth a possible organ-trafficking racket, to a community hospital, where patients are dying and staff are being attacked; and crimes of passion and chance occurrences bring a past murder case back to haunt Dalziel.

Spooks 4 (Rebroadcast)
Premiere date: Wednesday, 14 May at 22h30

Spooks returns for a fourth season. At the end of season 3 the group were left reeling after the shocking death of Danny at the hands of hostage-takers. Now Adam, Harry, Ruth, Fiona and rising star Zafar set out to become even stronger in their battle to safeguard the nation.

As the series begins MI5 faces a situation where they have only 48 hours to prevent a catastrophe. And Adam faces one of the most difficult choices of his career in order to save a hospital from devastation: will he be forced to let a brave and innocent young woman die?

Judge John Deed 4 (Rebroadcast)
Premiere date: Friday, 16 May 2008 at 22h30

For Judge John Deed, following the letter of the law can be tricky when the courtroom is clouded with conspiracy, heartbreak and scandal. A passion for doing right often leaves Deed at odds with his colleagues, family and lovers - is all fair in the pursuit of justice.

Controversial cases, pressure from high places, family problems and a broken heart; the eponymous judge has them all in this fourth series.

In the courtroom, Deed presides over a murder that threatens to unmask the corruption of the prison service while the case of an animal rights activist accused of murdering a scientist brings him into direct conflict with his equally strong-willed daughter. Away from the wood-panelled walls of justice, Deed's relationship with Jo Mills deteriorates when her former lover returns out of the blue.

The Rotters Club (Rebroadcast)
Premiere date: Monday, 19 May at 22h30

rottersclub

A coming-of-age comedy drama set amidst the trivia and tragedy of 1970s Britain. Young Birmingham schoolboy Benjamin Trotter is an inspiring musician who lusts after the impossibly gorgeous Cicely Boyd and conceals his nascent Christianity from the world.

The lives of Benjamin and his three best friends through school - anarchic jokester Sean Harding, class warrior Doug Anderton and prog-rock lover Philip Chase - mirror the barely more ordered world of their parents.

The story of the show reflects strongly on the era:  the power of the unions, the growing threat of the IRA, the upsurge of the British far right and the slow erosion of idealism and socialism.

The Mighty Boosh 2 (Rebroadcast)
Premiere date: 29 May 2008 at 21h30

Having broken out of the Zoo-Niverse, vain jazzman Howard and 1960's throwback Vince are free to embark on new adventures in this second season.

As the pair go in search of fame and fortune, things don't quite work out as planned though as they end up getting kidnapped by both the mythical Yeti and merman of the Black Lake in between battling the evil Betamax bandit.
