Why do people do this?

I was watching Gospel Time yesterday, there was really nothing else to watch at that time, Note: this is NOT about sis Ribs presenting, we've been down that road already. This is about gester's Demo artist.

Good Gaad, the demo artist yesterday was a lady called Margaret from Enanda(kubo kaSponono), she was there to try and get a recording deal like everyone else. I could not beleive they were airing that on TV!!!!! that lady was screaming her lungs and intestines out, she could not hear herself, the instruments were way louder than her, and you guys must know that lomfazi ubememeza, hayi kancane. It was deafening, uSis Ribs ubekitazekile!! At first i thot hayi maybe uyasaba or something, but it went on and on!!!

She was singing a song that i love very much (Strangely right now as i write this i've forgotten the song, i think its becoz it was sang so terribly). After the song she went to the interrogation room, oops she went to be interviewed by sis ribs, when this lady was singing as i said usis ribs was in stitches. So when that lady sat down, uribs asked her to sing again, without instruments,LOL!!! i think she thot maybe kuzobadifferent, hayi cha it wasn't, she screamed at the top of her voice.

The thing that worried me about this is they actually said she is a good singer and she must get a director and voila! she'll be a star, Why do people lie like that, i mean, i'm angry with her family, friends and the show itself for encouraging her to go ahead with this when they could have actually told her to pursue other talents like sewing maybe or something. Mina if you are a family member and you sing like that woman, ngikutshela straight ukuthi, hayi mntanasekhaya, uyabheda!!!! The voting lines are open the whole time and people must vote yes or no, i sent an sms saying "Shocking" but it came back saying it couldn't be sent because i've got insufficient funds, i really would have loved the people there to receive it.

Phew, i'll go drink water now. Guys if you watched the show yesterday, what did you think, do you feel the same way or is it just me.

Do you encourage your family members to do things because you are scared to tell them ukuthi bayabheda.

I think i saw the lady in white, i was half asleep...
What i know is that most demo atrists that go there, bayabheda period! but they still get 95% votes say yes and 5% votes say no to them...
If they know they can't sing but they want to be musicians they must go the Kwaito route...

Hey Belz, thankx for the article. Mna i didn't watch the show, so i'll only answer ur second Question.
Do you encourage your family members to do things because you are scared to tell them ukuthi bayabheda. .............mna dear i will tell them that they suck coz imagine u lie 2 them and they hear it from someone who's not family & who's gonna tell them straight that they can't sing .......that will hurt 2much. U know what's sad though is that ppl who can't sing luv singing-out loud, my sista is like that....LOL

morning Belz....nice to see you're writing again...unfortunately for me,noise pollution is a concern in my neighbourhood at the time her show is on so i have to adhere to the rules to avoid being kicked out....how do people stand the amount of noise that those people are making....i thought it should be about music.....

hallo Belzito...(I'll have you know that Busi Mhlongo is from INANDA uh huh yes she is..so Magaret is just a lucky sungbody nje!!)

anyway..I agree with you up to the point about her singing live/.....first I must say Sis Ribs was on point for asking her to sing without intsruments coz she (Ribz)probably heared the same deeafening loud noise we heared...BUT BElz when she actually sang....I thought she has potential.(even though I was even embarassed on her behalf LOL especially when a song is a mess it tends to sound like its longer than it is.)
...if only she could stop singing like "usetendeni" and learn how to control her voice..in fact I've heared worse gospel singers, like lowa-anti obecula kwivideo of the week Releboga somethin....ngeke Belz lowoke bedlala ngathi....but Umagaret udinga nje itraining encane to use that voice ngoba uyamemeza ...but yena she's not as bad as some previous artists....

I'm starting to like Sis Ribs no matta what she's funny actually and very relaxed and that Thwasa girl what is she all about ....and does she HAVE to dress so butch all the time haawu...

lastly lowa-mysista womXhosa obekhona daar uphethe ihips lomhlaba uyo'yisholo wena!!!

as for the voting I think its difficult for voters to be objective coz its a gospel show "who wants to go to hell for voting NO....eish people dont wnna take that chance phela if you vote Margaret off uyobe unesonno hi hi hi hi hi....(how many artists have been voted OFF...mmmmhhhh

Belz belz belz, Yho sis u finished me with this one. I am with u with one thing..... at ematendeni and her church choir is fine, they are used to her screaming, For recording she still have a long way to go for all of us to buy her CD. But hey that was a demo. The song is UJESU WAM UYAPHILA

Hhayi uSis 'Grettani bandla she's a NO ,NO . The women was singing like abomama bomjikelezo ( on Thursdays) , creaming to our ears like that doesn't deserve our votes.

The only show when the DEMO artist never won , was on the first show ya Gospel time and @ that time people were allowed to comment, and the comment I remember was in big CAPS " Hhayi suka bayabheda laba, badlala ngezindlebe zethu" they went on and on with comments and even said something about the attire you knows Limpponians with imibhoshongo emakhanda, so that is why they programed their sms's to YES/NO.

And u my sister loya ocurvecious, hhayi sukanini intombi yok'thathwa uyibeke ekhaya iphekele umagogo, kodwa ezithweni bekushaya umoya.

hawwu Foxy uMargaert usewariliza already....eish mara these recording studios nowadays are in it for the money they let anything go thru... they probably gave her some R2000 and bona they might make at least R10.000 from some bible-thumpin peeps who dont wanna go to hell for NOt buyin it.....hi hi hi...apparently the strategy saboma recording companies is to relaese a lousy CD and hope that somebpody buys it and they make SOME money while the cd itself doesnt do anything for the artist and is actually a major flop...(think of Chicoo's case where he allegedly paid that woman 2000-+ and he made more)

Mornings!! I Love Nobathembu, thats her name(Xhosa with hips) I also have sum too and hips dont lie. Shes on the Joyous 11 DVD and she rocked the stage live in suncity, def worth checking out!!
I think its family members of those ppl that vote overtime or they vote 4 themselves that y they always 99% I wud never vote 4 them mna, mostly they do suck. GD articlle

Hey there girl! I did not see the programme as I do not have access to SABC TV and e-tv but I know what you mean because I can't understand why people would enter singing competitions like Idols etc if they can't sing. If they are lying to themselves and hear the voices of angels when they are singing,.. ok but surely like you said they do have family and friends. Why do they not tell them the truth.
I know my mother and father would kill me if they would hear that I have plans to enter a competition like Idols.

I did watch the show by the way, (there really wasnt anything else on, and I hadnt seen it in months) gaaad, that woman weDemo. Heeeee! I watched from Twasa's "interrogation".
I was sorry I missed her performance (LOL). Eish, Twasa, she finished me when she said Pastors can preach in nightclubs. (Sis Ribs is really ancient for saying the word "nightclubs", as opposed to just Clubs.)
And then ke, the Demo woman brought on the noise. Nam Belz, I know that song, but now I forgot it, all i know is that she spoilt it. It will never be the same again.

And guys, I cant not speak about Sis Ribs. Like Cande, I ALSO cant get over her presenting. She's terrible, why cant SHE see that? Why does she have to force people to clap, like, every 10 seconds, and the noise, my gaaaad!? I didnt see her jumping and doing her "open your legs dance" though, which is excellent
