Top 5 Song Choices

The Idols song choices for this week:

From the press release:

It has been a busy week for the finalists in M-Net’s Idols competition. Saturday night [10 November] the Top 6 attended the SA Style Awards in Nelson Mandela Square in Johannesburg, where they cheered their colleague, Colin Moss, who was named the most stylish TV personality.

On Tuesday [13 November] the Top 5 jetted to Cape Town for a fashion shoot for their clothing sponsor, Truworths. Wednesday night [14 November] it was the glittering Survivor South Africa: Malaysia Finalé event at Carnival City on the East Rand, where Lorette Mostert was named the Ultimate Survivor.

In between living the high life, there was also hard work. Just like last weekend, the Top 5 each has to sing two songs in the Top 5 Spectacular this weekend [16 and 18 November]. The musical theme this week is “Seasons and Colours”, which means the contestants can sing any song with a colour or a season in the title.

Daniel Büys chose the Van Morrison classic “Brown Eyed Girl” and Coldplay’s “Yellow”.

Jody Williams is singing Michael Jackson’s “Black Or White” and “The Colour Of My Love”, by Céline Dion.

Munro du Toit is going with Limp Bizkit’s “Behind Blue Eyes” and “Paradise In Summertime”, by Just Jinjer.

Andriëtte Norman chose Elton John’s “I Guess Why That’s Why They Call It The Blues” and the Alannah Myles hit “Black Velvet”.

Tender Mavundla is inspired by Phil Collins’ cover of the Cindi Lauper hit “True Colours” and Tina Turner’s Bond theme, “Goldeneye”.

Hmmm interesting theme, never had this one before.....

With Bjorn out, I'm turning to Tender and Munro as my faves to win.

I worry about Jody's Black & white.....
could this week be her week to go? the others have pretty strong song choices although i REALLY hate that Black velvet song. And what is the bet that Dave will compare her to one of the past Idols that sang that song (i forget her name but she was in season 1 of Idols)
