Peeps will stop at nothing in trying to discredit Richard...but we all saw what appened on Saturday and both Ofunneka and Richard were having a time of their lives!!!!

Really Ganzi, I can't believe people were even throwing words like "RAPE" around...I mean, really!!!
And for those of you who are too lazy to read but too quick to judge, here is Biggie's statement...from BBA Website.

<<In the past few days, M-Net has received varied comments and queries about the events of Saturday October 27 on Big Brother Africa II. There have been opposing views and differing opinions from the show's audiences.

In answer to viewer queries regarding the events on Saturday October 27, M-Net would like to advise the following - M-Net is concerned about the rate of alcohol consumption in the Big Brother Africa House so going forward, there will be a reduction in the amount of alcohol sent into the House. In addition, Big Brother has addressed the issue of irresponsible drinking with all the Housemates individually.

However, none of the Housemates has made any complaint regarding any incident that occurred on Saturday. Furthermore none of the Housemates broken any of the House rules by becoming intoxicated. Big Brother Africa is a 24-hour, daily reality show on an age restricted channel and parental control is provided. Furthermore the choice to view is an individual one. Big Brother is based on showing the Housemates' actions whilst in the House for audiences who wish to make informed voting decisions based on Housemate behaviour.

Finally M-Net hopes that fans of the show will continue to use this website to discuss opinions, catch up with the show and interact with one another.>>

Hey there Shuga and ya'all. Don't know how much to read into the BB statement. Sure they've already consulted their lawyers!!! They've carefully avoided key issues and done something of an egg dance, and they're sure dancing round like it's the size of an ostrich egg :) .......... Those affected were so out of it I have to ask if they're fully aware of what went down. .......... "Furthermore none of the Housemates broke any of the House rules by becoming intoxicated." ... That is not the issue. .......... "Furthermore the choice to view is an individual one." ... Again, that is not the issue. The issue is what happened to the two women when they were incapacitated and not in a state to make judgement calls of any sort. I think Big Brother is sidestepping the core issues because of potential legal implications .......... While Biggie has addressed the issue of irresponsible drinking with housemates, in Richard's own interests, I think B should have spoken to R about his actions. The problem is that no one has or is, so the dude thinks that his behaviour is fine. And as such is R not being hung out to dry?

@Tsholo. Tx. I don't want to sound like a holy roller or anything but you now it's like when a child is growing up they have to be taught that there are boundaries. I don't know if Richard has been indulged throughout his life, or if he's lost his grip on whatever points of reference he might have had .......... In many ways this whole incident is kinda sad. For his own good, someone needs to be telling him "so far dude, and no further". But no one is. Yeah, girl!

You know why the supporters of Richard are still supporting him?.It is because they have spent a lot of money voting to keep him in. Turning their backs now will be an embarrassment to their cause. Like in politics this is called blind loyalty. Whatever the guy does, in their eyes they see no wrong as long as it is not him on the receiving end.

That statement from BB is a lot of BS. They know that they can be sued for what happened and as such they are covering their back sides just in case.

I am one of those people who perceived Richard's actions on Saturday as 'RAPE'. My perception is influenced by my experience as an avid human rights activist. As a human rights activist my perceptions, obviously, are influenced by my country’s constitution as well as the laws that governs my country.
The definition of rape according to the law on Rape in Namibia (Combating of Rape Act, No 8 of 200) does included sexual acts that are performed on persons that are intoxicated with liquor or any drug that mentally incapacitates them.
The Combating of Rape Act of Namibia is internationally hailed by experts on gender violence as one of the most progressive laws on rape in the world.

After reading Biggie's statement....I came to realise that people like to blow things OUT of Proportion. I will not change my Vote on Richie Boy...its too late for that.

Even if you don't vote him...his support base is even growing for the fact that some people want to villify him!!!!

@ Nokubonga - of course Big Brother/M-Net are going to downplay the incident - they can't exactly be on some 'yeah, Richard's an out of control sex fiend - sorry for any viewing inconvience or trauma!'.
they're just covering their asses! so i don't take anything from them very seriously - richard was out of hand, and that's just the truth...

what i will say in Richards semi-defence is that he was also really really drunk (as drunk as the girls) -but at the end of the day, it is not an excuse, but helps explain his crazier than usual behaviour...

reality shows in general need to think about the scandalous amounts of booze they give the contestants - i'm sure if they could get away with it, they'd give these guys weed and coke.. just for more crazy behaviour and higher ratings....

am put off the whole thing, and don't give a sh!t who wins anymore -

Hey Shuga, will check with the colleagues. I caught it once by accident (oh yeah, J!), but that was like back in the early days. Think it comes up twice.
