Upsets at the IRB

UPSETS AT THE IRB
rugby

this was a weekend of upsets at the IRB world cup as the favorites the “All Blacks” anf the Wallabies were eliminated in the quarterfinals. The All Blacks lost to the host nation France 20-18 and at the half-our mark All Blacks were leading 13-0 so I take my hat off to France all I can say to them is meet you in the finals. the second upset I don’t know if I can call it an upset because England are the defending champions, they beat the wallabies 12-10 without even scoring a try, the wallabies can blame themselves because their kicking was awful.

BOKS THROUGH TO THE SEMIS

The Boks showed again what a good team they are when they beat a spirited Fiji 37-20. I have to give it to our boys they played like real soldiers when the Fiji were attacking us from all angles. After 60 minutes it was 20-20 and the Fiji guys were on top of us, they almost scored a try thanks to a brilliant tackle from our winger JP who lifted their player over the try line. Juan Smit who was the man of the match scored the try which gave us an insurance policy and then Schalk sealed it perfectly to set us a date with the Argentineans in the semis after they beat Scotland as it was expected. I think we are bringing this one home.

f1 GOING DOWN TO THE WIRE

It went down in China as what was to be Hamilton championship winning race turned out to be a disaster for the rookie. On what was a wet track all the teams had to be carefull on which tires to use and I think the conditions suited the Ferrari team perfectly. The race began well for Hamilton. he opened up a 10-second lead by the time he made his first scheduled pit stop on lap 15. That handed Raikkonen the lead, which he maintained until his own stop on lap 19. Further back, Massa and Alonso were locked in battle, but not in a position to challenge. At this stage, all four front runners kept their original tyres through their stops. It was at lap 31 when disaster stuck as his car slid to the side and his race was over living the final race a three horse race between him, Alonso and Kimi who are at 107, 103 and 100 respectively. Brazil here we come.

WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE WORLD OF SPORTS
South Africa are doing well in Pakistan thanks to a century in each inning from the ever reliable Kallis, we are now 1-0 up.

The Telkom last sixteen round is over and today the draw is made at the Wanderers, I still cannot believe that Bucs are out of this competition. Its good luck to all the teams that are still in the running.

Arsenal mean business this season, the Gunners are playing brilliant football and they are currently leading the pack in the English Premiership after winning 3-2 over the weekend thanks to one of my favorite players van Persie’s winning strike.

I respect Hamilton for his remarks( i still want him to loose though) if it was Alonso who his car failed he would have blamed the team saying they favour Hamilton.

The Cup is definitely coming SA's way.....but I have to say, when the score was 20-20 i really thought Fiji had our number. Shuu what a scare.

I was upset that Hamilton did not get to finish. Come Brazil he needs to finish first / 2nd to hoist that championship. I would really love to see him win. Go rookie go rookie!

Fiji guys gave me a scare also, Hamilton will win next season.

I am smelling a rat with Hamilton's car failure. He was on pole during qualification and damn he gets dubbed out of points in the main race. I would really be upset if Alonso won the championship. the guy has an ego the size of Africa and he would rub it in McClaren's face if he won. its better if Ferrari won at least they would gloat about how the spy was a result of their earlier loss.

Bring it home Bokke.

I would rather play the English than the French in the final. the french will enjoy home ground advantage and the bokke cannot choke.

@username

Hamiltons car did not fail. He made an error, he failed to control (turn) his car when entering the pitlane, as a result he went straight into the gravel. This was because of a lack of grip in his tyres, they were worn out. The stewards tried to push him back onto the grid but failed, the car could not move it was just spinning in the gravel. He cannot blame anyone for that except his team for keeping him longer than necessary when they saw that he was batttling for grip and losing pace before finally telling him to pit.

I still think one of the Mcclaren boys will still pull it off unless a miracle happens, chances of that something happening to both drivers are slim, but with Formula 1, you never know anything  can happen, I have my fingers crossed for KIMI, KIMI, KIMI..... hamilton can win next year

Im for the BOKS vs POMS also, definitely not france.....

thanks Sda. I was so upset when i saw the highlights of what happened. and I think if McClaren wants to challenge for constructor's championship next year they need to fire one of those boys. Alonso and Hamilton cannot be in one team.

He cannot blame anyone for that except his team for keeping him longer than necessary when they saw that he was batttling for grip and losing pace before finally telling him to pit.

Maybe they knew exactly what they were doing. something is not right in that camp.

Yeah fellas,i agree Hamilton can win next year. Kimi is taking it in brazil. So far badimo baka ba na lenna. I prayed that something like that to happen to hamilton and it did. Cant have these McLaren boys to take it. Well never hear the end of it like kaizer chiefs fans

I do not agree with your statement, theres no way that could have happened, Ron Dennis wants Lewis (his protege) to win so badly, he would do anything to make sure that he happens.... His hands actions infront of the monitor when Lewis was stuck, it was as if he could push the car himself, that must have been painful for him.....

Lets wait till Brazil. I still say something is wrong in the Mclaren camp. and Alonso shooting his mouth off regarding Ron Dennis favouring Hamilton is not helping.

Its either Ron Dennis is a very good actor or Alonso's engineers are that damn good at sabotage or Alonso's prayers were answered.

I have a feeling that this saga is yet to continue.

Alonso knows he's a double world champion, he thought he would win easy at McLaren and be given No.1 status. He never ever expected Lewis to be so good and be upstaged  by him. He seriously thought because of his 2 championships he'd be no1. Unfortunately Denis had other ideas.

This thing of giving drivers equal opportunity has its pros and cons. Look at Ferrari, had they favoured Kimi and Massa play a supporting role, where would kimi be? But the equal opportunity has done wonders for the sport in terms of competition between the drivers...

as for sabotage at McLaren,  I say they must go ahead......as long as it works to the Kimsters advantage.

Ron Dennis is a huge Hamilton fan there is no way he can sabotage him.
- On the weekend the problem was with Hamilton and his team and he admits that because they decided to wait until the showers stopped before changing the tyres, which he says was a joint decision so i guess it was a case of wrong decision taking.I HOPE THEY FUMBLE AGAIN IN BRAZIL.
 GO KIMI KIMI KIMI KIMI.

i would also love to play England in the finals but i think it is going to be a SA-France final there is no way we are going to loose to ARG.
- I also take my hat off to Bakkies he always lifts the boy when we are struggling.
