I cannot believe it's almost here! Spingtime is just aroung the corner people! I know this must mean some good news for all those party animals! But then again i know there are those for whom summer or winter makes no difference to them shaking their booties all night!

On the 31st Dec 2005 I promised myself I would be a good girl and not go out to parties/clubs in fact, not to go out at all at night and to also limit my daylight outings. Y u may ask. Well this is the type of person I was: i'd leave home to go to work on a thursday morning and that would be the last my family would see of me...until sunday afternoon, if they were lucky, and if not then they'd only see my face on monday after work. My weekend would literally start on a thursday night and end on sunday. We'd go club hopping and to parties the whole night...and weekend. I'd go out to movies and visit friends and have braais and all those things people my age do. I was also a shopaholic, whether it be cd's, clothes, shoes, underwear, books...if i liked it i took it and didn't really care much about the price tag. Then i fell preggies.

And it was time for some major changes in my life. I made the choices and have stuck to them to the latter. Basically to focus all my energies on raising my little one and be money conscious and all of that stuff. I told myself i wud not go out at night at all until my baby was one full year! And now that that time is (almost) up I feel I'm a bit outdated on alot of things. I don't know what's hot, hip and happening anymore. Back in my day places like Moloko and Divine Lounge and Hartees and Mafikeng and Sankayi and Durban were the places to go to to have fun. Back in my day i'd be glued to the pages put together by Danielle Steele (my favourite author)...i was reading anything from romance to fiction to abo Da Vinci Code. Back then I could wear those low cut tight fitting jeans and body hugging tops. Stilleto heels were like flat shoes to me. I'd go and see all the must see movies and eat out at resturants whose prices would make most of my friends blush in horror (this i can neva get, girls y r u so stingy when it comes to things that are soooo worth it?!). I'd actually spend money on hair and makeup. Haven't bought makeup in a looong time...i paid the lady who does my hair a large sum in advance as i knew i'd have a problem forking it out later on. I went to all the concerts I wanted to (and neva paid for a single one!) and would do braais kobo Hartees and such. He bathong ne ke bo phela bophelo thleng!

U c I knew one day a time would come for responsibilities like being a mother and a wife and making sound financial decisions like buying a house and a car so i wanted to do all of that so i wouldn't feel cheated when the time for all of this came. So the first major responsibility came, that of being a mother, and i took it very seriously. No partying and all of that nonsense until babatjie is one full year old. And even then when i do it wouldn't be as hectic. I'm glad i made that decision and stuck to it because now i'm more maturer and focused and grounded. My baby will be one year on friday and on that day i will sit him down and explain go him gore mommy has been only a mommy for more than a year and a half (since i was preggies) and now mommy wants to tap into her womanhood now. Mommy needs to satisfy some of her own needs that are separate and exclusive of Punku. Needs that won't be met by neglecting him. Grownup stuff. I'll explain to him gore i've been so committed and will continue to be and still love him so even thou he refuses to say mama and says stupid things like dada (!).

But all of this came at a price...i realise now i need to be upgraded. People pls help me figure out what has changed and what's new!

1. What are the hottest places to go boogy at?
last i checked Durban was rockas (ma u funa uku jive woza e durban...)...is moloko still the same?do they still have the eye candy bathong! heeeeyyyy banna ba mole are fine! all tall and big and muscled (just how i like them)...the women are fine too, babalwa type fine...the music is different. i neva thot i'd find myself dancing to snoop dogg and abo eve's music until i went there. what about divine lounge? khanyi met her millionaire husband there, maybe i can meet my billionaire future husband there too...has the music changed? do u still go there and not leave without first hearing that song by that lady...don't know the words to it, only know the part get down what about sankayi? does it still have those "bebe what's wrong? bebe what do u need? i'll give u everything u need bebe. bebe, why we fighting...bebe bebe bebe bebe...?" the only thing that kept me going there was teh music ...kwaito and afro pop type...bo bongo maffin and such...that was a nice place. last time i was there entrance was like a R100..how much more expensive (eish!) is it now, that is if it's still worth going to? what other new places have emerged?

2. What movies are worth watching at the moment?
Last one i saw was dream girls and all i could think was when does it end so i can go home.

3. What are the must read books?
Last one i read was by that hip hop hoochie Korine Steffan or something....i think i like books like that right now...the tell all's...so long as they're juicy and are really tell all. the one part that sticks to my mind about this confessions one is the part where hoochie mama aka supahead had to give head to JayZ to say thank u for including me in ur music video! hmmm...i thot about this one for a moment after reading that part.....i thot, if it was me in that limo with him and he suddenly pulled it out and put on a condom and grabbed the back of my neck pulling my head down...what would i have done? and then i thot, yes i woulda gone down on him. ja. y not? i would go right down and bite it that bloody thing off! damned  m***fu***! who the hell do these people think they are?!

4. Where to shop for the right clothes?
Ok so i see those oh so low cut jeans and pants and skirts are not going anywhere. in fact they're getting lower and lower. the hight cut tops are also doing the same, except going higher and higher up. But ke where does a girl shop to get the right cut bathong! Where does one go to get diaparo tsa ma lady nowadays? And where the hell does one find a size 38D bra without them damned sponges! they call them padding but a sponge is a sponge thleng! And what are the in styles? What to wear...what not to wear...help me out please!

5. What cd's are worth buying these days?
I'm still clueless on this one. Whether it be local or international. Even thou i blog with u guys everyday i still don't know some of these people. musta been about 2 months ago i found out what songs rihanna sings. before that i knew the song and the artist but didn't make the connection...and locally, aside from bo Tuks and HHP and Jozi who else is new?

6. What resturants to go to to eat?
7. What has changed with regards to the male - female dynamics on a first encounter?
I know i know they say be yourself and i will be but what's new on this one? How does the first encounter go like nowadays? Do they still whisper sweet nothings in your ear? Are there still those who grab at whatever part of you that's grabbable as if you've been married for ten years when it's only the first time u met? first time i met my baby daddy he told me i was beautiful and that was the first time i actually appreciated someone saying that to me. all the other times it made me feel uncomfortable. damn, i still have a soft spot for the bas****!

8. How much, or little must i drink if i'll be driving?
before i neva used to care as i wasn't the one behind the wheel. the advantage now ofcourse is i don't have to fork out hundreds of rands on a bloody taxi and i don't have to depend on anyone else to take me home.

Keisha White is a new RnB artist, she's been getting a lot of airplay on radio. The name of her single is "Weakness in Me" , the chorus goes something like:

"Why do you come here, when you know i got troubles enough, why do you call me, when you know i cant answer the phone, you make me lie, when i dont want to, and make someone else some kind of unknowing fool, you make me stay, when i should not, are you so strong or is the weakenss in me"

<<FISH? is that what it's called? hmmm..>>
Yep, its a seafood restaurant called FISH
<<isn't 8 kinda like capitol? if so i'm not interested>>
No ,8 is a proper restaurant, not clubby, but has a nice young crowd

22 Aug 2007 04:53

Hey Kele. Here are some tips, if you want to keep it real hi hi hi

Book to read – Any book in the Mills and Boon range, if you want to rekindle the flame in your relationship

Perfume – Who needs it??? As long as you have taken a bath/shower and o tshasitse roll-on, you are good to go

Places to Hang Out at Nite – Your place... or mine? Holler! hi hi hi

Food and Wine – Whatever you would be cooking would be perfect. As for wine, a papsak goes a long way. What’s great about the papsak container is that, it’s a box and your hands won’t get cold when carrying it around AND the “no bottles allowed” won’t apply to you!!!

Music – I have noticed how clueless you are when it comes to music, so holler at me for some tips on SA music, so you don’t feel left out at bashes. And I have some unreleased stuff too, so that you can be chosen to get on the stage at launches as you’ll be the only person who knows all the songs!

Places to Shop – I agree with Gucci on this one, I have a list of dikoti tsa the whole of Gauteng!

Movies to watch – Released or unreleased?

I feel like i am 60 years old reading this blog. I am turning 21 soon and my only favourite hangout is my couch watching DVD's. Some of the places mentioned here i have never heard of.

Movies: Hairspray, Ocean's 13, Die Hard 4.0, Dhoom 2 if you are into bollywood, license to wed coming out soon and Evan Almighty

Perfumes: Anything from the Piere Cardin Brand

Books: The Alchemist, Coconut written by a 22yr old South African, anything by Zakes Mda and Steve Biko's Biography.

Places to shop: Truworths and Rage stores.

Music: Robin Thicke-Evolution of Robin Thicke
Sean Kingston, Enrique and Mafikizolo and some Ringo.

Keisha White is not a new artist, this is actually her second album and wekness in me featured on her debut album but the album flopped. Weakeness in me started getting airplay in 2006 a year after its release from underground DJ's and her manager decided to feature the track in the second album. Pity the album is not even worth pirating. she tries too much to be "booty girl" but its not her and the album just exposes that.

To tell you the truth, in your times sounds much better than nowadays!

The only place that still rocks is Primi in Rosebank- their food is still devine.

Devine Lounge-sorry! It is closed! Not happening anymore!

Moloko-Nowadays you have to have a membership card to get insde. All the shlebs  go there, ba sheba marago a rona ha re jiva! I suggest you don't do that no more! Go ya bo 18yr old with framents of cloths to cover necessary parts!

Newscafe in Rosebank-Ke Shebeen! Laterally! I would not go there, not even close. Go ya these BEE wanna be just because yu are wearing PINK/OR SALOMONE!Whatever that colour is!

Capitol-It used to be classy but now it is drawing the Newscafe crowd!

Sophiatown in Newtown- if you wanna lounge that is!

There is another joint in Sandton-PALMS!  Next to Austin Martins(excuss the spelling)R100 will get you in mara everything u drink is over R30-glass of wine, savanna and all. The crowd is still decend!

Movies: anything taken from a book
Books: anything made into a movie
Places to shop: have your stuff "especially made"  or is it tailor made??..fashion designers are the latest BEE's
Music: hip-hop (which i hate with passion) and the latest Afro-pop dude or Nhlanhla  very silly unoriginal stuff methinks.
Places to Hang Out at Nite : in Durban, you can try the Zulu Launge espesh if you are still a Singleton...there lottsa BEE chaps (and some live music with the Jozi artists like Joe Nina etc. and another place thats decent but a little bit wild on Friday's  called Egagasini  where you find a mix of  students and Bee's and then of course there's Skybar - or Havanna which has uhlweza (extra change)  thats what we call these pretty young things that go in groups and wear the latest and love house and hip-hop...mostly high-school and first-year students
Drinks: I know with guys whiskey has taken over (particularly form the Johny Walker Range- you supposed to buy the whole bottle evenif its R500 LOl
as well as the Hansa Mazen gold (in the absence of Amstel) and girls, its red-wine and Sarita...
Perfume : now that very indivisual and personal...you cant follow a trend on a scent...dont tell me you want to smell like someone else....but since you are asking...I think the trend is to buy these perfumes from specialied direct market selling beauty agencies..like Avon, Justin ect..where you get your own scent which you wont find at Edgars..as for guys, we still want our Aramis and NewWest from Edgars.no sweat there

the bottom line is DAys Gone By were much more exciting and fun than nowadays...so dont worry about now because you aint missing much...its not as fun as it used to be..in fact house-parties are it-with your close friends, (like us bloggers would be more fun).

KeleFab-  I think I hate more of the local hip-hop because I think there's no originality (but of course some of these hip-hop guys are very talented in terms of rhymes and in miing it with a lcoal flavour..otherwise I think hte main reason is I DONT FEEL IT  ...so thats why I dont want to even listen to it...(its like how when you used to turn to Lotus FM and soon as ou heared that sound you go EEW..but you know that surely somewhere someone loves it..thats my story and I'm stickin to it..LOL

As for the perfume..forgive me sisi..I awas a bit lazy to read the whole article and I looked at some very smart blogger's reply who decided you needed the low down on perfumes   oops my badd....(i also ws suprised you'd ask..hi hi hi...

Ha!!  why am I not suprised it GUCCI who started the perfume update...well go figure .....LOL

Hey family, I just diiiig the topic. Wecome back Kelefab!!!!!
Jordan: Fela kgomo yona o e opile lenaka ngwana wa ko gae! Your list is simply doing!! Hi-hi-hi

I totally agree with you ka kgang ya di perfume and I am dead serious! I bought this cheap one ka R50 and my friends used to  laugh their arses off when I had it on. To an extend that I had to stop using it and the bottle is not even half empty, talk about wasting money, Kelefab, do not use perfume!!! Damn.

Places to Shop – I agree with Gucci on this one, I have a list of dikoti tsa the whole of Gauteng, I simply need the list Jordy!! pls ke a go rapela ausi, help me out. :(

But ko music o wrongo sana. Kelefab, try 1. Robin Thicke and feel sexy!
2. Then go straight to Baba Ringo Madlingozi's Ndim lo, absolutely fab, especially that track called Tsho Tsho Mama (It is talking to every sister out there who thinks that they are not beautiful or good enough) And I'm sure you guys know that when it comes to complimenting the ladies, Ringo goes all out. You will not regret it.
3. John Legend's (again or once again, eish forgot) latest. When u have this one Kelefab, go straight to track no 7 called slow dance. Since u r returning to the social scene, this song will have u on those heels and slow dancing in no time. Beautiful staff!!! Ke a go bolelela

Jordan: Pls honour my request love, ke desperado. I want to return to the dating scene after nursing a broken heart for quaet a while, eish, e ne e robegile go robega!! Ke batla go chancha wardrobe completely.
