It's 4:36am and a couple of the housemates are very much up and about quietly doing something in couples - except I can't work out what the stuff they're trying to do. They've all been walking around looking at stuff in the house - like the paintings, furniture, that big map on the wall and they've been talking about them.

From what I can work out they've been told to study everything carefully and remember stuff 'cos they're saying they should make notes.

Only some of them are doing it though - a couple are sleeping and Married Boy and someone else who's not in the picture (a guy) are in the jacuzzi. They're not talking just lounging in it. It's all much darker than per too and Lerato had a torch a bit earlier.

I'm so frustrated because I don't have time to watch.  Have to work and have to sleep.  Hopefully the weekend will be better.  Why don't they show the task on the info board (when you press ok) like the last time.   I can see people will get frustrated to watch as they won't know what's going on, like Tashi, just saw people looking at stuff but don't why.  Keep us informed MNet!

They need to do something to keep the housemates awake past 10pm, and asleep till after 5am - Surely?

At this rate the entire show happens at bizarre hours when everyone is asleep or at work, and then by the time they can watch, the housemates are asleep.

Everyone's collapsed in a heap mooning around. Some are sleeping, Maxwell's lying on the couch, others are sitting chatting - Tatania's talking about catechism - they all look like they're trying to get through the afternoon alive.

The only one talking a lot is surprise-surprise Justice. He's going on about some book he read. Ha! He's asking Maxwell - "Are you even listening??" and Max uninterestedly said: "Yes," then tried to repeat what Justice just said.

They've obviously had to draw the things they were lookin' at 'cos they're all gathered in the lounge - looking half-dead- and Justice's told them that BB says he's not happy with their level of artistry.

Aha! An explanation as to what was going this afternoon and why they were all so miserable. In the morning BB gave them this task: (From the BB Africa 2 site)

Big Brother revealed a new task and the Housemates had to get outside and get creative. They were instructed to choose the three items from their luggage that they miss the most and paint them on a section of the wall outside.

Once the Housemates collected their supplies from the storeroom they immediately made their way into the garden. Lerato quickly took charge, distributing supplies and instructing the others on how to mix the paint.

None of the Housemates looked particularly happy about the cold weather. Kwaku was having difficulty in deciding on his items but Lerato was immediately on hand to give him advice. Meryl seemed particularly unenthusiastic, content to stay in the background for a change.

As the first layers of paint hit the walls, the Housemates were taking their task incredibly seriously. Perhaps they were hoping for some sort of reward for their endeavours, or perhaps they are just missing their personal items.

Tatiana''s red dress from the opening show was one of the first items to go up. Justice was missing a pair of jeans and Lerato created a bit of a mystery by starting with a white undercoat before revealing her objects. Bertha began by painting a flower pattern, but it was not clear exactly which object she was missing.

Taking care to follow Big Brother''s instruction to keep it neat, the Housemates proceeded with caution. A white pair of sandals appeared, but people seemed to be having difficulty identifying a pair of slippers that Justice had drawn.

National pride was running strong, with Max and Jeff both painting shirts adorned with the national colours of their respective countries. Eventually Lerato''s painting was revealed to be a selfportrait of her wearing a pair of shades. She looked to have put in far more effort than any of the others, most of whom seemed to be in a rush to finish.

Max was done first, displaying national pride in all three of his choices. Meryl stepped back into the limelight with her blue string bikini that drew admiration from Kwaku. Max had some comments about Justice''s choice of clothes, asking him if he was missing a gstring, but Justice didn''t rise to the bait.

Max also had some comments for Maureen, telling her ''Thats cool,'' before deciding to play the gentleman and offering to make her a cup of coffee, which she gladly accepted. Lerato joined in making fun of Justice, describing his briefs as ''funny as hell.''

With most of the objects done, the Housemates began to speculate about Big Brothers next move. He has already thrown in enough twists to leave them guessing about what comes next, and they can be sure that he isn''t going to reveal that until he feels like it.

-----

After they spent the morning doing this, they all got iffy - which is when Justice told them BB wasn't happy with what they'd done so they went outside to paint more.

The very groovy thing is that they've introduced the idea of giving the housemates a secret task the others don't know about.

Richard was told that he had to make sure everyone started a paint fight and that if he was successful he'd win and and get and award but unfortunately he needs a massive smack instead. Can you believe he  "confided" in others to help him start it?? What a loser copout. They better not give him the prize.

I still have no clue what they were doing with the torches in the early hours of the morn.
