Last night as i was watching Scandal i thot, for like the hundredth time, kanti Stan and his big dissappearing act e etsagala neng? I was seriously beginning to think etv and the Scandal producers had just made this whole thing up and it was all just a publicity stunt. I would have forgiven them this one as that wud have meant Sello and his bon bons will not be gracing our screens. Right? NO! At the end of the episode they show a snippette of tonite's episode and there's the man himself in all his glory(his chiskop looked so shiny!).
And then i got thinking, who are we, simple bloggers, to tell the producers what we want to see on our OWN screens in our OWN living rooms? After all watching tv is like going to a resturant and ordering food. Just because u eat their food doesn't mean u can tell them HOW to make it. Right?Hmm...Then u have to remember this man has been in the industry since before i was born and he's hugely successful. And i thot producers are supposed to know what they're doing and maybe this is a good thing for Scandal. Maybe he'll make the whole soapie more interesting?(i'd like to know how). Enuff of that. The deal's been sealed and tonight we'll be having dinner with those bon bons. I thot of a few good reasons one shud cont tuning in to Scandal, despite Sello's presence, and here they are:
1. Sello's kissing has improved immensely! (watch this spot!) hi hi hi
2. That holier than thou attitude of his which he happens to take along with to every role he plays has found a deep hole to bury itself in.
3. We will no longer be exposed to his "forced" sex appeal. We realise the man is damn sexy after all (all the ladies go yum yum)
Wait a minute! No man. Ke ditoro fela tse. Nx! Y must we keep tuning in? Let's take a moment and reflect:
* Scandal is one of the greatest soaps on mzansi (don't know what the ratings are but IT IS)
* Their plots are never over extended or too dull
* The psycotic new editor who talks to herself
* Lolo gets bitch slapped for her ugly behaviour of late
* Shakira's mysterious belly (is she preggies?)
* Shakira gets over her anger with Tino and they become the best of friends
* Now I want to know what Alex's agenda is. I don't buy all that bull about him wanting his life(wife) back and living happily ever after. What man forgives the woman who betrayed him that way? it's even worse that that woman was the love of his life.
* I'm still trying to figure out Tino's budding "friendship" with Mo...when did this happen?
* Eddie's drinking. I'm still trying to figure out the thinking behind this saga
* The day Tino finds out the other side of Abigail(Laqasha)
* When they finally explain to us Jomo's presence. what's the point of him being there now that his son is dead?
* Nirvana big comeback (we know it will happen, we just don't know when or how)
* Mangi comes out of the closet and reveals his undying love to Nhlanhla
* We have awhole show dedicated to Jay Jay stripping. ha ha ha ha
So haaike u Sello hasn't got much hold over me. I love me some Scandal! I'm gonna keep on watching. I'm also waiting to see this magic ingredient the producers seem to think they've come up with.
