Kian and ReneeIt sounded too much like an infomercial so I just had to Google it. And it was no urban legend, no hoax, no fairytale but a true real life story. It got me thinking about a whole of things that had nothing to do with the story but SA Society, Hollywood and Gollywood.

Kylie, Kian, Renee and RemiThe father is 17!!! The mother, Kylie is 19!! She says she was in shock when she discovered the pregnancy because they were not trying to start a family! Oh my gaad! WTF? Has she heard of condoms, contraceptives and abstinence? Sex Ed Lesson 1: If you have unprotected sex, you may fall pregnant, no plan or trying for a family required! That is why using protection or getting contraceptives falls under “Family planning”.
Please enlighten my untravelled self – don’t the kids in the UK get taught Health education? A long time ago when I went to school (Bantu Edu) we had a “Health Education” class, in the model C school they taught us “Biology” where part of the lesson we were taught about the birds and the bees and the differences between female and male bodies – this was all to let us know that sex ain’t good as you WILL fall pregnant if you do it! (Anyone remember the Bantu Ed “Health Edu” curriculum?)
The questions that I needed answers to
- How is it scientifically and biologically possible that the similar genes would be attracted to each other? Doesn’t the “opposites attract” law apply? Sex is complicated, moes!
- Can Science and Biology evolve to a point where we can choose the race of our kids? If, of course, some white or black chromosome is in your genes?
- How would the apartheid government have dealt with this; had these babies been born in SA? Would they have taken the little white baby, arrested the couple and given the black baby to the relatives?
- How will society treat these twins? Will they be treated differently because of their race? Would Society instill some kind of envy on either of the children to try and associate themselves with a specific race?
- Will the children have an identity crisis?
- Is there any other children that have been born under these circumstances?
- Is Hollywood ever gonna make a movie about the life and times of the twins?

- Believe it or not, I remembered Michael Jackson… What race is he again? Could this “phenomenon” be what happened to his 3 Michaels( Prince Michael I, Prince Michael II and Paris Michael)? All his children are as white as snow aren’t they? Does this mean he falls in the million to one statistic? Or is he a special case? His white chromosomes are really strong!! Must be the tiger baba that he used? Hi hi hi! What is Tiger baba again, my old darkies? My memory just recalls that boys would often brag about using it to enhance some sexual feelings or something towards that line!
Former Buzz Presenter - Carol Bouwer- Our very own ex-buzz presenter Carol Bouwer is married to a white hunk, ahem!, and has completely forgotten her Sotho/Tswana in the process (Accent and wording) Her children are obviously mixed-race, may unlikely speak her vernacular (Have you noticed how the township school teachers refer to local languages as “Vernac”? My ma and aunt are teachers and they both teach “Vernac”! hi hi hi) Anyways, back to Carol – Her kids may marry black partners – If the Michael Jackson phenomenon happens, their kids could be white!! Carol could be a grandmother to white kids!!
