Sunday night 8pm, nothing much to watch on TV?? Wrong.A few weeks ago decided to tune into sabc 3 and The OC was playing. Didn’t make a lot of sense the first few minutes, but I must say I’m hooked. It’s basically about a very rich family, The Cohens, the wife of course is the daughter of very rich business man Kaylib.
Let me just recap on yesterday’s episode as it is the main reason why i decided to write. Kaylib apparently decided to propose to Julia (Merrisa’s mom). Julia recently slept with Merrisa’s ex boyfriend Luke who is half her age (bitch!!) Merrisa found out and totally and understandably freaked out!! (if I was in her shoes I do not have a clue what I would have done). Sandy and Jimmy (Merrisa’s dad) were having an opening party for their new restaurant. Apparently Jimmy had some scandal in his previous dealings, whatever the scandal this restaurant was denied permission to sell alcohol (of all the things that could go wrong)
So Kaylib was their only source of hope. Sandy almost threw up thinking that he had to beg Kaylib to do him a favour (Sandy is Kaylib’s son in law) and they do not have a good relationship so you understand. The party was a success except that Luke (Julia’s ex-makhwapheni) almost ruined it for Julia, he didn’t do it though instead he ran and drank himself to a hospital bed. Merrisa went to see him in hospital and to say her goodbyes, Luke is leaving coz he feels really terrible,(sad that we only feel bad when someone’s hurt) with Ryan of course (love that guy).
Merrisa then went to Kaylib to try and tell him what type of a person her mother is, the fact that she slept with Luke. Surprise, surprise Kaylib had something up his sleeve, a proposal for Merrisa. He would save the restaurant only if Merrisa moved in with him and Julia (the s**t who slept with her ex-boyfriend), oh jehovah!! That heartless arrogant prick!! How could he do that, he knows how Merrisa feels about her mom. So Merrisa knowing how broke her dad is accepted the offer, I was so pissed off at Kaylib, and the fact that Merrisa didn’t tell him about her affair, oh Christ it would have been so much drama!
My question is, does money really make people think they rule the world?? If you were in Merrisa’s shoes what would you have done?? What in Christ's name is going to happen to Luke??
