Ridge and Brooke have had their fair share of weddings, whether it was to each other which turned out to be more illegal than legal or to other people, they know about wedding vows, make no mistake and the words
“till death do us part” is not a vow they take lightly. You see even though Ridge and Brooke have wed other people, they somehow always make their way back to each other if only for a short while. So I do believe that when B&B eventually
“dies”, Brooke and Ridge will be old and grey, in each other’s arms saying
"I do" before breathing their last breath and the end credits roll. Lets give it another 20 years, shall we?
For now lets get on to their latest wedding which was filled with lots of drama and passion.
Just before Ridge and Brooke got engaged yet again, we found out that Baby Dominick was not Nick’s son but Dante’s. This changed everything with Nick and Bridget, since Nick wasn’t willing to raise another man’s son (who can blame him) not because he didn’t love the boy but because he was afraid of getting hurt again.
Yes it’s no biggie for him to love the boy and raise him but his argument to Bridget was, what if Dante changes his mind along the way just when he, Nick, had gotten attached to the little boy? Can’t you understand how much Nick has been hurt by all the babies taken away from him, Bridget? You’ve only had one taken away, he’s had three. Bridget couldn’t see Nick’s point of view, all she saw was a man not willing to raise another man’s son with her but he’s more than willing to with her mom?
Back and forth the two argued until Bridget was forced to admit that their baby Nicole and Dominick was the glue holding their marriage together. Now that there is no babies, their marriage has come unstuck and it is for this reason that Bridget feels that they should rather go their separate ways.
Meanwhile back at Brooke’s house, Stephanie is trying to convince her to chase after Nick again so that Bridget will be free to raise Dominick with Dante. Brooke thought Stephanie had finally lost it, it’s the most absurd thing she’s ever heard. Ridge steps in and finds out what his mother is up to. Right then and there before things got really ugly, Ridge popped the big question to Brooke, in front of mummy dearest, he produced a ring and Brooke made the usual mumblings, why do all women do that, “oh its so beautiful” like Brooke hasn’t seen many beautiful rings in her past.
Before Brooke gave Ridge an answer to his “will you marry me” question, she laid out her terms and conditions, don’t ask me what they were, it was too ridiculous and unmemorable. Ok if you must know, she said she wanted to be put first in his life, before Taylor and his mummy, she wanted them to be a big happy family and I can’t remember what the third one was. Ridge just said “yes yes yes” to everything, he’s horny and wants to get her into bed and if he has to marry her to get what he wants, so be it. The two kissed and Ridge unable to handle being sexually starved much longer, decides that they should get married the next day.
Through all this, Stephanie is speechless and rolling her eyes she gives Ridge the usual song and dance, you’re making the biggest mistake of your life blaah blaah blaah. Brooke even teased her about wanting Ridge all for herself to tuck him in at night like a baby, Brooke I think you hit the nail right on the head, what is it with Stephanie’s sick obsession with her oldest son anyway?
It’s the day of the wedding and Brooke is getting ready. She and that adorable little girl who plays Hope are having a one on one. Hope is not at all pleased with her mom marrying Ridge again, why can’t she marry uncle Nick, Hope asks. So little and yet she has so much depth. Hope was not at all excited about being a flower girl in Ridge’s wedding and far preferred going to school than having to be in the wedding, that sure says a lot doesn’t it?
So everyone’s at the wedding, Massimo and Jackie, Thorne and Darla, yippee they’re getting some more screentime, as long as there are family gatherings that is.
Over at the beach house, Bridget and Nick are still talking about their marriage, Nick wants to save it and Bridget wants to let him go, have they been talking the whole night? Anyway Bridget is all dressed up for the wedding and she eventually breaks it to Nick that her mother is marrying Ridge that very same day. Nick is shocked but refuses to show his true feelings. Bridget tells him he must stop the wedding before its too late, she’s letting him go, he’s a free man but still Nick doesn’t register, he’s still fighting to save his marriage to Bridget.
Over at Brooke’s place, Stephanie tries a last ditch attempt to change Brooke’s mind about the wedding, telling her that Nick is a free man, he’s hers for the taking but Brooke is not listening to her. Ridge steps in, hears what his mother is saying and puts her out, saying that today it’s about him and Brooke. What happened to, “its bad luck to see the bride before the wedding”, well clearly they don’t bother with those old wives’ tales, its not as if any of the previous weddings have worked out either way.
Back at the beach house, there doesn’t seem to be any rush from either Nick or Bridget about stopping the wedding because just then Nick plays the song that he wrote especially for Bridget and the two dance their final dance while reminiscing about the good days they had together.
Only when Eric leaves a message for Bridget on her answering machine that Ridge has moved the wedding up and that she should come on, the wedding’s about to start, then only does Nick react. Bridget tells Nick to go on but he’s hesitant only for her sake but eventually he makes his move and is out of there. Bridget burst into tears.
At first I thought Bridget was making the ultimate sacrifice, giving up her husband, the love of her life for her mother but then fellow TVSA’er Amazingly put things into perspective. She pointed out that Bridget was making herself out to be the victim again, yeah sure she’s giving Nick his freedom but not for the reasons we think. The whole idea is to make herself free to be with gorgeous Dante so that the two of them can raise Dominick together, Bridget is dying to be a mother and a mother she will be even if she has to sacrifice Nick.
So once Nick runs after Brooke and the two of them get together, everybody will feel sorry for Bridget. Oh shame, her slutty mother once again stole her husband away from her and Brooke becomes the bad girl again.
Oh get off your high horse Bridget, we are so onto you and your devious ways.
Nick was never yours to begin with, you knew that he fell head over heels inlove with your mom, you should never have pursued a relationship with a man who’s heart belonged to your mom in the first place. Cry your big crocodile tears and get your own man for once. In enters Dante Damiano, who was rather pleased when Bridget told him that her marriage to Nick was over.
The wedding has started and Brooke looks beautiful in a simple yet elegant dress. She comes downstairs and walks up to a smiling Ridge. The first thing the priest asks of the witnesses
“if there are any objections to the two of them getting married”. Brooke sweetly turns to Stephanie and says to the priest,
“there is one objection but she better not say a word” to which Ridge says
“Amen”. We cut to Nick racing to get the house on time, he’s willing his car to go shnell schnell (sorry just had TAR moment), will he make it in time?
Brooke and Ridge are saying their vows to each other and I must say, Brooke really knows her vows, she sounded so sincere like the whole thing was for real.
My kids and I were watching this episode and they know I’m a big Ridge/Brooke fan or like the Americans call them,
BRIDGE and this made them also
BRIDGE fans so they were not impressed with this that Nick was wanting to stop the wedding, they were willing the wedding to be finished already and thought it was when Ridge kissed Brooke even before the priest announced them hubby and wife.
Alas I told them the priest first needs to say the magical words and before he could do that, Nick barged in by the door, stopped everybody in their tracks saying he don’t care at what part they are, he rushed over to Brooke, threw her over his shoulder and raced upstairs to her bedroom, locked the door behind them and before Brooke could protest, he kissed her and kissed her and kissed her until she gave in and kissed him back.
I had to giggle when Steph held onto Ridge so that he can’t race after Nick but when she let go, Ridge was too late, he was left banging on the door asking Logan if she was alright. Meanwhile Brooke who was taken completely by surprise looks at Nick confused, asking what is going on?
That whole scene was too delicious for words, as much as I love
BRIDGE, I believe that Ridge needs to work much harder to earn Brooke’s love back. All the years, Brooke has had to fight for Ridge’s love and attention and she had to be satisfied with the itty bitty scraps he threw her way.
Ridge has always chosen other women over Brooke, Caroline, Taylor the first time she returned from the dead as well as the second time. Now for once, Ridge has some real competition for Brooke’s heart because she is inlove with Nick, not like all the previous times she used men to make Ridge jealous, Eric, Thorne, Grant Chambers, Whip, James Warwick, now she is genuinely inlove with someone other than Ridge Forrester and that is gonna be a very bitter pill for Ridge to swallow.
