AI6 Finale Winner: Jordin SparksCongratulations to Jordin Sparks for winning the sixth installment of the Smash Hit- American Idols which once again proved to be a smash hit amoungst US fans, drawing in the millions this season.

However this season did come with a slight decline in viewers, still nothing major since the show is still a smash hit phenomon, however the sixth season finale did fall 6 million viewers short to 30 Million Viewer, compared to the 2006 Season 5 Finale of 36 Million Viewers. (On Average)

South Africans were lucky to have a Live Finale Broadcast at 2:00am on M-Net Series, while FOX aired the finale from 8:00pm, here's the low down on the millions of eye balls which tuned in to see the battle between Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks.

8:00pm
23.633 million viewers with a household demographic of 14.2/25 and a 8.8/28 Adults 18-49 demographic.

8:30pm
29.554 million viewers with a household demo of 17.2/28 and a 10.9/31Adults 18-49 demo.

9:00pm
- 31.942 million viewers with a household demo of  18.5/29 and a 11.9/30 31Adults 18-49 demo.

9:30pm
35.267 million viewers with a household demo of 20.1/31 and a 13.4/32 Adults 18-49 demo.

10pm (9 minutes)
- 39.209 million viewers with a household demo of 22.4/34 and a 15.2/36 Adults 18-49 demo

Overall the the American Idol 6 Finale;
30.735 million viewers
Households Demos - 17.8/29
Adults 18-49 - 11.5/31

Declining in 6 million viewers, compared to last years Season Finale which earned the following impressive numbers:
36.38 million viewers
Households Demos - 20.5/32
Adults 18-49 - 14.2/35 

The decline is apparent in it's final half an hour of the finale, where the fifth season finale, pulled in almost 42.94 Million Viewers and the sixth finale only managed to peak at 39.20 Million Viewers when it over run it's 10pm mark.

Networks stayed clear of the Ratings Hurricane Idol, and scheduled repeats and specials. The only other worthy thing for the night was the Lost Season 3 Finale.
The two hour finale, scheduled at 9:00pm - 11:00pm pulled in 13.655 million viewers; 7.9/13 Household demo and a 5.8/15 A18-49 Demo.
