Coming Up on M-Net Series (March - May)
Upon browsing the M-Net Series website I managed to come across what's coming up on M-Net Series for the next 6 months! (Note: SABC and eTV try something similar). Anyways I thought I'd review what's coming up on the channel in the next few months. Seems like there's a host of some new and exciting shows as well as returning favourites coming back for another amazing season! Here's what we can expect for the few months to come.
March:
American Idol VI
Tuesdays & Wednesdays 19:00
This mega hit musical reality series follows three judges, Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson (II), and Paula Abdul, along with host Ryan Seacrest around the United States in search of the next American Idol, a pop star that truly shines above all the rest.
With help from the viewers, they will decide from thousands of participants who will walk away with a record deal and the fame and fortune that is sure to come along with it.
Average Joe V

Average Joe is a series about average-looking guys with big hearts and great personalities hoping to win the love of a beautiful woman returns with more twists, turns and conflicts than ever before.
This time, stunning 26-year-old red-headed beauty Anna is the alluring bachelorette. Born in Poland and raised in Las Vegas, Anna has a degree in business administration and is now a model and entrepreneur.
Once again, the unsuspecting model thought she was on a traditional dating show only to be surprised by a swarm of average Joes, including a tool salesman, a pest control guy and a computer-science student pursuing his Ph.D.
In the six-episode series, the 18 enthusiastic average Joes hope to woo and win her over with their charm and personalities. But first, they'll have to navigate through an all new series of dramatic twists and turns, outrageous surprises and their toughest competition yet - seven strikingly handsome jocks who are cocky and confident that Anna will only have eyes for them.
Also included are a romantic getaway to exotic Tahiti, surprise visitors for both the Joes and Anna, and the return of three of the most popular former Average Joes in the premiere.
Men In Trees

Men In Trees, originally scheduled to air at the end of January, makes it way to our sceens, now on Thursdays in an earlier timeslot.
Finding a good man in today's world isn't as difficult as some women think. They just have to watch out for the signs, and it's the job of Marin Frist (Anne Heche) as a relationship coach and best-selling author to help women to find the right men.
She travels the U.S. to give women help about how to find the right guy, using her personal life as a model. Now that she has a fiancé, she just released her new book meant to help women find the right men for a great marriage.
Before the wedding, she has one little conference in Alaska. On the plane, she discovers her love life isn't going that well at all as she finds out her fiancé has been cheating on her. She now has to forget everything she has learned about men and gain new knowledge about love and relationships.
The Real Housewives of Orange County

This 13 episode series which could be seen as a Desperate Housewives and The OC crossover, brings you into the lives of five women and their families who live in one of the wealthiest communities in the country. They take the viewer into their lives to show their lives aren't always perfect.

The L-Word IV

The fourth season of this hit series returns to M-Net Series. The L-Word tells the story about a group of Lesbian friends who living in Los Angeles try to go by the everyday experiances of Love, Life and thier Careers.
Three Wishes

In this 'feel good' new series, Christian and pop music star Amy Grant joins forces with helpers from the many TLC home improvement shows, to help out many deserving people all across America.
In the series premiere, Amy and her team take three wishes from some of the town's residents.
First up, an extraordinary girl who is suffering from severe head injuries from an car accident. Second, a teacher-coach who is ailing and wishes for a better field for her school and her students. Finally, a young boy wants to thank his stepfather for stepping in when his father died and wants to be legally adopted by him.

The Apprentice: Martha Stewart

Bree van der Kamp meets Donald Trump in this spin off. The goal of The Apprentice was to find the best business man or woman to join Donald Trump in his organization.
Now, from the people who brought you The Apprentice, Survivor, The Contender, and The Restaurant, they bring you The Apprentice: Martha Stewart where the goal is for Martha Stewart to find the best homemaker like her to head one of her businesses.
The show didn't fare too well with it's US audiences due to the contrast between the original 'The Apprentice' and this spin off.
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip

From Aaron Sorkin, the mastermind behind "West Wing" and "Sports Night" comes this new series, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.
Featuring an all-star cast in front of and behind the camera, such as "Friends" alum Matthew Perry, "West Wing" alum Bradley Whitford, plus the talented Amanda Peet, D.L. Hughley, Richard Schiff and veteran Ed Asner.
Sorkin, who handles much of the writing, makes sure this vehicle buzzes with new drama as the show takes a fascinating look behind the scenes of Studio 60, a fictional sketch-comedy series that's going down the tube fast.
Everyone involved with the late-night dud seems to have one problem or another, including the current Executive Producer, who just had an on-air mental meltdown, and time is running out fast.
Enter the networks Chairman of the Board (Steven Weber), a new network president (Amanda Peet) looking to make her mark on the net. Her answer is move is to bring in a pair of fresh-faced writers (Matthew Perry and Bradley Whitford) to try and save the series. Will it work?
The Bachelor VIII

The Bachelor - now in it's eight season - gives one man and 25 women the unique opportunity to find true love in a most exciting and adventurous way.
The Bachelor will get to know the 25 women in a series of fun, exciting and exotic dates that will elicit real and raw emotions. Along the way he must follow a gradual process of elimination, as his initial 25 bachelorettes are narrowed down week by week by presenting them with a single, red rose.
In the end, he will ultimately decide on the one woman who captures his heart. However, at any point along the way, should a woman decide that she is no longer interested in The Bachelor, she may reject his invitation to continue dating. If the women decide to stay, some lucky women will meet his family, and he will visit their hometowns for a slice of their life in an effort to determine the woman with whom he is most compatible.
The Bachelor provides an in-depth, behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of each participant involved in this unique dating process. At the end of the journey, this gentleman will have had an unforgettable experience, made new friendships and quite possibly found true love. But the big question is: After all of this, if he pops the question, will she accept?
Top Chef

Fifteen of the top up-and-coming chefs around the country have been asked to show off their culinary skills as they vie for the top prize, the title of Top Chef. Season Two, located in Los Angeles, also introduces a new host, Padma Lakshmi, who is the author of a cookbook in addition to being an actress and a model.
This season's title includes a state-of-the-art Kenmore PRO kitchen, an editorial feature in Food & Wine magazine, the opportunity to showcase his or her skills at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, Colorado, and $100,000 to "kick start" their culinary career.
Unan1mous
Fridays 21:00
Unan1mous takes nine contestants and locks them in bunker with no sun light, no outside contact, and not being able to know what time it is.
Under these conditions they have to all decide unanimously who will get $1.5 million, but as they fail to make a unanimous decision the money goes down $1 every second and many twists and turns are thrown at them. The show got cancelled by it’s US Broadcaster FOX due to bad reviews.
