Soap Update- Days of our Lives: It’s Been All An Island of Lies

Please Note (Off Topic): Because of IsiDays-o two blog-isode special last week, there will be no IsiDays-o published this week.
So after investing 11 or something months, I cannot even keep track, been accused of being an addict, a Belle obsessed fan, a sadist, Days of our Lives spins the biggest load of rubbish since the conception of Belle, it’s now all been a lie.
Don’t you just hate that? It’s like a cheap way to dig writers out of plot holes they’ve dug up. It irritates and annoys most fans, including myself! Well being as this is Days, I’m guessing the writers didn’t think far enough to conclude the storyline and when things got too tangled they got very desperate, and had to resort to this- well at least it wasn’t ‘all a dream.’
What's Been Happening?
Well for those who haven’t been watching, here’s the low down. A serial stalker starts harassing Salem spicing things up for Days, and boosting the ratings (that was the purpose of this storyline, to better the ratings and get rid of some of the dead wood cast). Anyways armed and psychic Celeste arrives and Salem and predicts doom and death, and how right she is, and even though Celeste predicted each and every ‘murder’ she was, by some force and stupidity and because her wigs discredited her authenticity, was unable to save any lives. Tsk tsk Dahling.
Abe Carver was the first to go, despite being Police Commander of the Salem P.D, Abe took a bullet and died on his son’s Christening. Next to go was Jack Deveroux, after publicly announcing on his TV Show on a Salem Cable Channel with like 12 viewers, Jack announced that he was close to figuring out who the Killer was, then he got bricked down one day at noon- the same time Abe died aswell. Maggie Hortan, resident recovered alcoholic allegedly saw the Killer killing Abe, but mentally blocked this out, so she received hypnosis from Marlena to help jog her memory. Then one Halloween Night, Maggie got hit by the bottle, in a bad way which resulted in her dead. Maggie had supposedly given some information to Caroline concerning the identity of the Killer, Marlena then poisoned Caroline and timed that her death would occur during Abe, Jack and Caroline’s Buy Two, Get One Funeral Free Tri-Funeral Marathon. And while praying to God, Caroline fell over and died.
Despite Marlena being the only one in Salem with Cable Access to the channel that broadcasts Jack and Jen’s TV Show, Marlena being the one who hypnotised Maggie and Marlena being a doctor who could prescribe the pills that killed Caroline, no body suspected her.
Alien Twin, Sexy Virgin, Cassie DiMera Brady some how discovered who was really behind the murderes, like an idiot she told the Killer that she was going to the police and that she was going to expose them, and no she had not told anyone. Before she left, Cassie sent and email to Rex telling him that she knew who the Killer was, obbiously the Brady blood ran strong and she didn’t like an idiot include who it was. Cassie was then killed and placed in a Thanksgiving Piñata where she was whacked out by a bunch of twelve year old kids and layed helpless on the streets of Salem place covered in blood and Candy!
Roman Brady was the next to die on New Years Eve 2003, and on his Wedding Night, Roman was slashed and a small statuette that is found on top of the Cake of a Bride and Groom was shoved down his throat. Roman was another victim of the faceless Hockey Masked Serial Killer that ran around the streets of Salem terrorising the town.
Hortan, an imported Tiger from the likes of Julie and Doug Hortan arrived into town, Hortan was then used as a killing machine to kill the next victim- Tony DiMera. Tony some how by the grace of God or Ken Corady (Days’ Exec Producer), managed to find out that Marlena was the Serial Staker, but being Tony DiMera he wanted to make a show out of it and expose Marlena infront of massive crowd and provoke her to come out. Little did Tony know, horny Hortan injected with Viagra, or some other medical drug did the deeds and came out to rape, attack, abuse and molest his every piece of flesh, okay I am being dramatic here, on his body. However Tony is a DiMera and judging from his father- they don’t die out easily. Tony survived the attack so desperate, Marlena drugged Tony with IV and slowly killed his entire insides before revealing her to be the Serial Stalker.
Can you imagine the terror for Days fans?! Yes Marlena was plastered all over our screens constantly now with a weapon of sorts, obviously poorly chosen like a letter opener hidden behind her back, just waiting to stab anyone. What is interesting was during this storyline, because murder is a sexual fetish for most Salemites, the Sex Scenes increased and the bloody murder and violence too, yet SABC 3 kept with a Family Friendly PG Age Restriction. I blame the influx of crime and teenage pregnancy, rape and other bizarre happenings because of this.
Doug Hortan some how use his knowledge and wisdom for something other than his poor taste in women and put two and three together and got Marlena being the killer, sadly the old age took over again when he confronter her on Valentines Day and insisted she book herself in and even offered an ear and support. Marlena then slashed him away but then his Wisdom kicked in and on his bank statement to show how poor they are because of Julie’s huge expense, Doug scribbled Marlena’s name with his own blood and left it by the St. Luke’s Small Graveyard where every dead Salemite seems to get buried.
Day’s Matriarch Alice-Smack-Me-Down-I’m-Still-Alive-At-313-years-old-Horton then, don’t ask me how, probably with her walking ring, went to visit her husband’s grave and pray for closure to this upsetting storyline, she probably secretly prayed for a new Days Head Writers as well, and Alice’s prayer’s got answered, however not before the Days of our Lives Sadist God Kicked in. See Alice was paying for her sins, the biggest giving birth to someone, who gave birth to another, who gave birth to utter rubbish which is part of the Salem PD and the Rest of Salem, so for this sin and bad Karma for using too much Shuga (hehe) in her doughnuts. Anyways Alice managed to see this note, which despite the crime scene been cleared by Salem PD, Alice found it and called John to him that Marlena’s the killer. Marlena came over and tormented her soul, surprised she didn’t have a heartattack, and sadist Days God, prevented her from being saved due to multiple circumstances, Alice died (the worse acting ever btw) with a shoved down, double sugared and icing doughnut in her throwt. And so were the Days of our Lives.
Skip jump and track, the Salem PD managed to arrest Marlena for being the Serial Stalker and after trying to find alternatives to prove them wrong, such as possession, that not being Marlena, mind control, etc etc, John failed and Marlena underwent the Truth Serum and confessed to all the crimes. She was then arrested, part of a prison riot, was mistaken for escape and trying to plead innocence with a gun in her hand and shot down and died.
Pyschic's Free Trip To The Lost Salem
Last week after witnessing Marlena not being dead and waking up screaming in her coffin, Marlena awakes at an exact duplicate of Salem, on an Island somewhere in the tropics. Turns out most of the dead alleged victims are living there in their Salem homes, with everything the same just separated by their loved ones and of course no Cellphone’s or escaping it. Seems like all the dead victims have been talking a well deserved holiday in the Tropics on this island.
Currently Marlena has awoken to seeing Roman, Alice, Abe and now Doug. Apparently they are all on the Island (all the victims) except Tony, whom they believe is responsible behind this all.
Behind the scene’s however, Days got a new Head Writer (yup Alice your prayer got answered) and he hated the hole that the previous one had written the show into, so he tried to re-invent it, hired all the ten fired cast, whom all returned. Days spend most of the Summer of 2004 shooting the second part of this storyline and there’s much more to come, including new romance’s, mysteries and intrigue from Salem and Melaswen (which is New Salem backwards), and lots of Surprises!
I must admit personally, I knew Days would pull a stunt like this like they are all not really dead, I just want to know how in The Days’ God’s Name, did they manage to appear as Ghosts in Salem, if they living on an Island, no chance Celeste pop around for a game of ‘Astral Projection’.
