Dummy's Guide: Understanding US Ratings
Know the numbers, where's it from and what it means. Not sure how it works. Read this Dummy Guide...

The Week's Biggest Winners & Losers:

Monday Biggest Winner:
Heroes (NBC)

The show which deserves the title keeps growing consistently in viewers and demos and anchoring the night for NBC. This week hit hight numbers.

Mondays Biggest Loser:
Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (NBC)
Call it the 'Friends' curse because of Matthew Perry starring in the show, but the point is this show is declining in viewers and failing to retain most of it's huge lead-in from "Heroes".

------------------

Tuesday Biggest Winner:
House (FOX)
Drawing in just over 17 million viewers, "House" keeps growing and dominating it's timeslot. The show also has grown in it demo each week.

Tuesday Honourable Mention:
Veronica Mars (The CW)
She's no Jessica Fletcher, and certainly not pulling in "Murder She Wrote" numbers but Veronica Mars deserves credit for reaching Series High Numbers and Demos. The show also up-ed its retention rate from "Gilmore Girls"!

Tuesday Biggest Loser:
3LBS (CBS)

The show keeps declining each week in viewers and batteling to retain it's viewers. The show got yanked off the schedule faster than viewers have been fleeing it! Umm the axe swings fast once again!

------------------

Wednesday Biggest Winner:
America's Next Top Model (The CW)

Tyra's hit show hit high numbers increasing in viewers and almost passed the 6.0 Million Viewer mark. Also the show managed to give lead-out "One Tree Hill" a ratings boost!

Wednesday Biggest Loser:
Day Break (ABC)

While everyone knew it wouldn't hit "Lost" numbers this show is earning less than half the numbers "Lost" pulled in or even a rebroadcast of "Lost" would earn. A few weeks back the Fall Finale of "Lost" pulled in 17.5 Million Viewers and "Day Break" in the same timeslot is battleing to pull in 5.0 Million Viewers and to make matters worse, the demo tied with The CW's Teen Soap "One Tree Hill"

------------------

Thursday Biggest Winner:
Grey's Anatomy (ABC)

With "CSI" out of the competitve way (athough the show which is re-runs mode stil pulled in an impressive 15 million viewers) "Grey's" managed to hit season high numbers with almost reaching 25.0 Million Viewers!

Thursday Biggest Loser:
The OC (FOX)

Someone save thier dignity and cancell it now... the show is slipping furthur in the ratings and compared to it's year ago performance (3.65 million vs. 5.90) The OC might not make it to 2007.

------------------

Friday Biggest Winner:
Las Vegas (NBC)
The two hour episode drew impressive Friday night numbers and Season High Numbers as well. And also the 2 Hour episode drastically increased every 30 minutes.

Friday Biggest Loser:
Ice Wars 2006: USA vs. The World (CBS)

Guess the American public wasn't keen on seeing the US vs. The World (fear of being beaten or something), it certainly explains the low numbers this broadcast pulled in.
