Pre-Experiance:

The information sent out by TVSA stated that the party began at 7:00pm/8:00pm but I decided that me and my friend should come at 8pm/8:30pm, seemed like a reasonable time. We arrived at 8:30pm at 80’s. There I told the lady working at the till about the guest list. Rudely she said, your not on the guest list because you don’t have one. I asked her if she sure and that can she please check with Sharon Bezuidenhout, as advised by Tashi if there were any problems to contact Sharon. The women quickly confirmed with the bouncer that there was no Sharon there. I was getting nervous and scared. The women hurried me to pay my R40.00 entrance to the club for me and my friend.

I was so afraid that I might have misread the email wrong or gotten the dates mixed up that’s why the women in the front and the bouncers didn’t know about the Guest List, Survivors or Sharon. I phoned my brother and asked him to please go on my laptop and check my email and see if the date and club was correct and he confirmed this. I spin chilling scary feeling came over me. So my friend and I ordered a drink and relaxed. The party was building up and slowely getting fuller. I went to check the time on my phone and still hoped that the Survivors would be arriving at 9:30pm as said in the email send by TVSA, and then all the mix up and confusion would be cleared! I went to check the phone on my cell and saw miss calls from an unknown number. It turns out it was Tashi, she the called me! I was so grateful to hear from her! Her friendly voice reassured me everything was going to be okay and told me about the problems. There I gave the phone to someone in the font, a bouncer who knew nothing who gave it to the owner or someone in charge. He immediately rectified the entrance thing and told the lady to refund us the money. When I asked again about Sharon, no one knew about her still.

Waiting patiently for the Survivors to arrive! Still no sign of anyone and the women working in front by the door was irritating and knew nothing! Finally Tashi contacted me again reassuring me that everything will be okay and that Sharon and the Survivors will be arriving just after 10pm. So again I patiently waited till 10pm and admit that my hope and faith were wearing thin. My friend actually thought I was playing a sick joke and that no survivors would be there! I needed to be proved wrong! Where are Gareth, Brigitte and Lezel!

I saw the guy that Tashi was speaking to on the phone, the manager or owner of somethings escort two girls to the VIP section, I followed him and said im with Tashi and TVSA and waiting for Sharon, is she there. He said she is not and refused entrance to the VIP section.

At 10:15pm I went back to the VIP area as instructed by Tashi and meet Sharon who had my VIP passes, bags and Survivor Shirt. I went there and asked one of the mini-VIP bouncers if Sharon was there. He asked around and said No. It was ridiculous. At almost 10:20pm/10:25pm (cant remember) I called Tashi and asked her to please phone Sharon and ask where she was. I was waiting two hours to see the Survivors and had no hope (okay I’m being dramatic) a little bit of hope only left!

A few minutes after phoning Tashi- who was extremely helpful, really friendly and apologised so many times! Thanks Tashi, if it wasn’t for you I would have left and missed seeing them Castaways!! Anyways I then saw a Survivor: SA crew personnel come from the VIP area and asked him does he know Sharon and that I was on the Guest List- Winner of the TVSA competition. He immediately let me in and when that stupid mini-bounce for the VIP area (I saw mini-cause his like a mini me version, much smaller, not shorter tho!) asked what I was doing the guy said we with him. It turned out that Sharon had been there for a while but she was so happy to see me and immediately gave me my presents and we thanked her!
