Jude Wimps-Out And Nico Gets Noosed

EPISODE THREE

All I can say is thank you to the God of Survivor that there was a vote at Tribal Council when Jude did the ditch ‘cos nothing could have been more boring than a disappointing wimp-out of the game with nothing juicy in return.

Jude’s tears and low blood pressure didn’t impress me at all and I’m sure there are tons of people who entered the show who were ignited with a fury on their couches, fuming about how they would never have done such a thing.

It’s such a waste to invest time and emotional energy into someone who decides they’ve suddenly got an affliction and must leave. Where were all the medical checks they’ve supposed to have had and how could Jude possibly have relied on getting red meat to eat? Is this how she cops out when a mad hostage taker has victims??

Tsk - it’s a lowdown dirty shame, espesh considering she had such potential to be a mean, kickbutt player in unique ways. As Aguila sat negotiating it all at Tribal Council bathed in the warmth of the knowledge that they wouldn’t have vote anyone off I wanted to slap every single one of them - which is a feeling I had throughout the show with most everyone.

It’s the trippiest thing because I was suddenly super irritated with everybody in both tribes, as if I too hadn’t eaten for seven days and needed to spend every waking minute staring at their mugs.

It actually started with Jude right at the beginning when she ridiculously said that the decision for last weeks whacking was suddenly between Sam and Mzi and not Sam and Brigitte. I didn’t for a moment get the sense that anyone was considering getting rid of Mzi and it made me annoyed that Brigitte got off so lightly.

Also, I felt disconnected from Aguila - as if they’ve got loads of secrets going on that they’re not sharing with us - which they then reinforced at the end with their Nico vote.

Over at Rana my mood was lifted a bit with a good chuckle at them still not having fire and their attempt to get one going. It’s hysterical that not once in the history of the show has anyone arrived with the knowledge of making fire - it just goes to show how valuable the first person in the world to make one from nothing was. Their name should be in books or something.

After introductions to each of the tribes situations everyone headed off to the Reward Challenge which involved them choosing three champions to sprint for wooden things. Aguila chose Sanele, Mzi and Brigitte and Rama chose Gareth, Zayn and Jacinda who got annilihated by Sanele.

I’m convinced Rana's trouble was not choosing Lezel to run instead of heavy-weight Zayn. Their justifications for it at their waste of time meeting made as little sense as the meeting itself which wasn't nearly as democratic as they convinced themselves it was.

They say they have them so everyone can talk and be heard but it’s not true because they didn’t even begin to try to consider Lezel’s argument. Her whining about how superbly she runs on the beach was overdone but still, the way the rest of the group consistantly ignored her must have been very frustrating.

Their handling of everything felt like being in a group where the person with the loudest voice gets the most attention and them chomping that sugar cane somehow made it all more suffocating.

Their camp's gotten oppressive too - it's mad how they’re all so prepared live amongst water-logged sogginess like that. Clearly they’re too lazy to do something about fixing it and don’t care.

It's quite incredible how much silent status the good doctor has despite his refusing to help sort it out and his ludicrous attempts to run in the challenge - have you ever seen a set of scrawnier calves in your life? Ha - not so Mr Archers buff body now are we?

I must say the one person who didn’t annoy me was Ncumisa with her cunning planning to get herself into his favour.

I like the way she speaks to us so honestly, informing us of who she’s gonna use next and what skullduggery she needs to get up to - trusting that we won’t tell anyone that everything she does is dishonest and scheming. It’s very similar to the way Rob Cesternino strategised and I’ve never understood why people don’t use it more because it must such a relief to just really talk to us properly like that.

I found it interesting that she said she thought she was on the chopping block and from what I could work out it’s because of the two cliques of people who’ve developed, which Lezel misguidedly seems to think she’s part of.

Lezel’s obviously hoping that Rama's attitude towards her athleticism will change after she so successfully swung them the Immunity Challenge victory. That swing thing looked killer on a back but it was excellent and even Vanessa managed to surprise me by doing something constructive and getting some life into her for once.

Those skulls were cool too – it always creeps me out to seeing them in any context even if they’re not real – like imagining myself and what I’ll look like – I have a slight underbite which freaks me out big time.

I was very pleased when Rana won the challenge, not because I was particularly on their side but I was very keen on seeing what Aguila would do needing to vote a second time in a row and was both surprised and hysterical when they targeted Nico after the whole Jude thing.

It was unanimous too which means there’s obviously something very sleazy about him which I’m convinced has to do with them thinking he’s a poisenous snake in the grass.

Last week he was all over the place and very unreadable, pretending to be buddy-buddy with Sam right up to the very end so I’m sure this has something to do with it.

In the voting Mzi mentioned he didn’t like his attitude so he must have been referring to this – the sense that you just never know where you stand with him nor what he’s thinking nor who his ponytail could turn on next.

Speaking of the voting – where was the whole thing of them showing who voted for who? We don’t even know if everyone else besides Nico voted for him. Even if it was all of them I wanted to see.

From the looks of things Nico’s gonna strangulate himself in remarkable ways next week  – I couldn’t believe the clips they showed – you have to be so totally dense to go back and attack everyone like that. With that kind of response there’s noo ways he’ll save himself.
