NEW SUNLIGHT AD

A man is intrigued by the newspaper ad claiming that SUNLIGHT CLEANS 5500 PLATES. Realizing the town population is 5500, and wanting to put the claim to test, he set out to wash all the dirty dishes in town. All the while, his wife keeps track of just how many he manages to wash until he reaches the grand total; and proves Sunlight to be true. Talk of accuracy, this ad is so accurate, simple and straight forward. You do not have to hit your head against the wall trying to figure it out. Sunlight has maintain its standard when it comes to its commercial, being a prominent and well trusted brand they sure knows how to maintain the standard they’ve set.

THE RAMA AD

RAMA

The ad features a team of young soccer players who are losing their game by 3 to nil. During half time behind the locker doors, the young boys appear defeated with glum faces. The jam-packed trophy case of the so-far winning team and clearly reigning champion just adds insult to injury. But all is not lost as all the focus is on this little boy who gets his fight back, so to speak-after taking a bite of a sandwich. The boy speaks to his fellow team members with bold determination, motivating the other boys until they all shout together in team spirit, ready to take on the opposing team with renewed energy. Rama’s target is mothers who want what’s best for their children, but this time they changed their focus, they went straight for the children. This ad is also inspirational to the young ones. This is one of my fave ads, I like the spirit of the boys in this ad, many can relate to this giving up mood in the ad.

NIKE/HIV/AIDS AD

Greatest opponent,HIV

Your greatest opponent is the one you cannot see.HIV is sometning we prefer not to think about, however the desease is rampant in our country and needs to be considered more seriously.

Recently, the world leading sport’s brand Nike launched it’s first HIV/AIDS campaign in South Africa, which included a hard hittingf television commercial”Greatest Opponent’
This ad contain a strong call to action:Your greatest opponent is the one you cannot see.'Life is not a game.Wear a condom”in this ad Nike athlete Butch James(rugby), Fabian Mc McCarthy (football),Charme Redemeyer (road runner) and Lehlohonolo “hands of stone” Ledwaba(boxing) are flung to the ground by an unseen force to the very apt tune of ‘bang, bang, my baby shot me down” by Nancey Sinatra. This delivers a powerfull message that HIV/AIDS is an invisible force that could strike absolutely anyone at any time.

Moral of this ad: Sport men and women take their sport very seriously. In fact, most competitions are seen as a life or death situation where one either wins or loses. To became the best one need to overcome many obstacles. Similarly, HIV/AIDS is an opponent that has the ability to defeat.

CHAT MORE ON FRIDAY

Thanx God its Friday

Now this is what I call a memorable ad. On Monday like most of us this guy is finding the day to be so dull, heavy ,its like climbing the mountain, on Tuesdya he is a bit better though he’s still dragging himself, Wednesday Things are now starting to look up, Thursday, now he is alive, the movement is changing, the pace is increasing, then… Friday, now who’s the man! This guy is completely awake, it’s groovy time, even the song on the ad is fast, and a thick voice sings ‘Thanks God is Friday’ It’s time for menwana phezulu…and the encouraging dance moves if you know what I mean…This ad really makes sense for me, we all know that on Friday many people (potato couches excluded) go out, so chatting more and paying less on Friday comes in handy. I slowly am becoming one of the fans of Cell C ads.
