The Steve Wilkos Show is a syndicated American talk show hosted by the former director of security on The Jerry Springer Show, Steve Wilkos, which sees him expanding on his successful "Steve To The Rescue" shows that he did while serving as a substitute for Springer whenever Springer took breaks or was doing other projects.
The series premiered in the USA in syndication on 10 September, 2007. Episodes are an hour in length.
The Steve Wilkos Show premiered in South Africa on e.tv on Tuesday 10 June 2008, at 13h30. Episodes air on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the same time.
Synopsis
Better known as long-time head of security on the Jerry Springer show, Steve Wilkos spins-off in his own talk show.
Wilkos' assets as a host include morals instilled by his Marine training and street smarts garnered from his experience as a police officer. His guests are teenagers who find themselves in dangerous situations and their concerned parents.
He talks to drug addicts, prostitutes, molesters and men who are not fulfilling their role as fathers.
Wilkos takes a tough love approach to his guests and often throws chairs around if the circumstances warrant it - which they regularly do.
Usually, by show's end, whenever he is so angered and disgusted by guests who make absolutely no effort to clean up their lives, he usually yells at them at the top of his voice: "GET OFF MY STAGE!!!"
