Season 6

The X-Files is a Canadian/American science fiction television series created by Chris Carter in which FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are the investigators of X-Files: marginalized, unsolved cases involving paranormal phenomena.

Mulder is a believer in the existence of aliens and the paranormal, while Scully, a skeptic, is assigned to make scientific analyses of Mulder's discoveries.

The show aired in the USA on Fox from 10 September, 1993 to 19 May, 2002. There are 202 hour-long episodes in nine seasons.

The series originally aired in South Africa on SABC1 and SABC2. It later aired on TopTV's Fox Entertainment channel, beginning with Season 2.

Synopsis

FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are not the same at all. Mulder is a believer in the paranormal while Scully is not.

Together, they investigate paranormal cases which takes them all the way to alien conspiracies within our government and even puts their lives and careers at risk.

Together, they try to solve the mysteries within our government, no matter what they have to do, and along the way they try to solve any other case that's related to the paranormal.

As a boy, Mulder saw his sister disappear in mysterious circumstances. Now an FBI agent, he has undertaken to investigate those cases which have been deemed unexplainable by normal means. Be it alien abductions, monster sightings or other strange phenomena, nothing is too weird for Mulder.

Scully is a medical doctor who is as ardent a skeptic as Mulder is a believer.

Seen as a defining series of its era, The X-Files tapped into public mistrust of governments and large institutions, and embraced conspiracy theories and spirituality as it centered on efforts to uncover the existence of extraterrestrial life.
