Season 4

The New Adventures of Old Christine is an Emmy Award-winning comedy series starring Julia Louis-Dreyfus as a recently divorced single mother.

Her ex husband, surprisingly, is still a very prominent figure in her life and ironically has a new girlfriend also named Christine.

In the fourth season of this sitcom, marriage is the new black. Christine offers to marry Barb to keep her in the country and Richard proposes to New Christine and she accepts – after many failed attempts.

Marriage life, however, doesn’t stop Old Christine and Barb from dipping into the ‘dating’ arena.

This season Matthew begins his work as a therapist and his first patient "Lucy" played by Michaela Watkins has a problem with a lack of boundaries with authority figures, and this includes Matthew.

Of course, as the professional that he is, Matthew tries to control himself but the two end up kissing.

Problems such as sleeping together and Lucy acting like Christine arise, but the issues strengthen their relationship.
