Blackbeard: The Real Pirate of the Caribbean (also known as Blackbeard or Blackbeard: Terror at Sea) is a British docu-drama mini-series produced by Dangerous Films which tells the true story of Edward Teach, who went on to become known as Blackbeard - the most notorious pirate the world has ever known.
The series aired in the UK on the BBC in 2006. There are two 50-minute episodes in the series.
Blackbeard: The Real Pirate of the Caribbean originally aired in South Africa on DStv's BBC Prime (now BBC Entertainment) channel on Sunday 11 and 18 February 2007, at 19h00.
It premiered on DStv's BBC Knowledge channel on Monday 13 October 2008, at 21h30.

Synopsis
This is the true story of Edward Teach, who went on to become the most notorious pirate the world has ever known.
