Season 2

Louie is an American comedy television series created, written and directed by stand-up comedian Louis C.K., who stars as a fictionalized version of himself - a newly divorced father raising his two daughters in New York City - filtered through his observational humour.

Each episode puts a spotlight on Louis' hectic life as a successful stand-up comedian and newly single father raising his two daughters. The single-camera comedy is a mix of Louis C.K.'s stand-up comedy and scripted short films.

Louie lacks a fixed cast, but features many guest appearances by popular stand-up comedians including Nick DiPaolo, Todd Barry, Jim Norton, Robert Kelly, Rick Crom, Eddie Brill, Ted Alexandro, Chelsea Peretti, Hannibal Buress, Big Jay Oakerson, Todd Glass, Godfrey, Myq Kaplan, Kurt Metzger and Ricky Gervais.

The show also features guest appearances by notable actors including Matthew Broderick, Tom Noonan, Bobby Cannavale, Stephen Root and Pamela Adlon (who also starred as Louie's wife in Lucky Louie).

Although most episodes tend to focus on Louie's interactions with new characters, the show also features a handful of recurring roles, including Pamela Adlon as Pamela the playdate friend and potential love-interest, Robert Kelly as Louie's brother Robbie, Hadley Delaney and Ashley Gerasimovich as Louie's daughters Lilly and Jane, Ricky Gervais as Louie's crude and inappropriate doctor, David Patrick Kelly as Louie's therapist, and Nick DiPaolo and Todd Barry as Louie's friends and fictionalized versions of themselves.

Louis C.K. serves as executive producer, writer and director, and Dave Becky and 3 Arts are executive producers.
