CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (also known as CSI: Las Vegas or CSI) is an American police procedural television series created by Anthony E. Zuiker that follows the investigations of a team of Las Vegas forensic scientists as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious and unusual deaths and other crimes.
The series premiered in the USA on CBS on 6 October, 2000.
CSI originally premiered in South Africa on M-Net on Thursday 23 August 2001, at 19h30. The first four seasons also aired on SABC3 and the show also began airing on DStv's M-Net HD when it became available in 2008. TopTV's Fox FX channel also began airing the series from Season 6 and DStv's Sony Entertainment Television (SONY) channel also picked it up. It also began airing on M-Net Series Showcase (simulcast in HD) from Season 13.

Season 3 originally aired on M-Net from 16 December, 2003 to 18 May, 2004, on Tuesdays at 19h30. New episodes broadcast weekly.
Season 3 later aired on SABC3 from 29 September, 2005 to 2 March, 2006, on Thursdays at 20h31. New episodes broadcast weekly.
Season 3 premiered on SONY on Thursday 29 November 2012, at 21h25. New episodes broadcast on Mondays and Thursdays at the same time. There are 23 episodes in the third season.
Season 3
The best and most popular drama on TV is back for a third season.
This season, Grissom will deal with the degenerative hearing disorder that was diagnosed last year. Also, Sara will be getting a boyfriend that upsets Grissom's sense of order.
Each week the CSI crew sets out to ferret out the truth behind whatever grisly, gruesome or extraordinary murder might occur. The crime scene situations and the methods employed by the investigators could rival the best Sherlock Holmes mystery.
Most often there are two separate murder investigations each week, with Grissom frequently overseeing both.
Along the difficult trail to solving the mysteries are plenty of red herrings, and the solutions are often not revealed until the final frames.
There have been episodes which push the limits with elements such as mangled bodies, nudity, language, but nothing is gratuitous. There is a reason, scientific or pertinent to each investigation, for everything shown on the program.
