About the Show

The Real L Word is an American reality television series created by executive producer Ilene Chaiken and Magical Elves Productions which derives from the success of the television drama The L Word by following a group of real-life lesbians in their daily lives in Los Angeles.

The series premiered in the USA on Showtime on 20 June, 2010.

The Real L Word premiered in South Africa on DStv's Vuzu channel on Tuesday 7 June 2011, at 23h00. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 2 premiered on Vuzu on Thursday 20 December 2012, at 23h30. New episodes broadcast weekly. There are nine episodes in the second season.

Season 1

Roll out the welcome mat because the ladies of The Real L Word: Los Angeles are moving in to show the world how it's really done - sexy, sophisticated, Sapphic style.

The nine-episode, one-hour reality series comes from the preeminent chronicler of lesbian stories, Ilene Chaiken, who served as creator and executive producer of the long-running Showtime drama series, The L Word, and will executive produce the new series along with reality producers Magical Elves (Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz) who made runaway successes of Project Runway, Top Chef and Last Comic Standing.

The Real L Word: Los Angeles follows a group of real-life, high-profile, left coast lesbians as they go about their daily lives, at work and play.

Chaiken and the Elves plan to show viewers that they can be every bit as glamorous, fashionable, fabulous and even as cutthroat as those hetero housewives.

Season 2

The Real L Word, the totally unscripted Showtime reality series about being young, gay and out in L.A., is back for a hotter-than-ever second season.

Wild child Whitney is joined by an all-new cast of girlfriends, and they're ready to stir up some heartbreaking, girl taking and troublemaking while trying to find success in the city of angels.

Whether it's love or lust, make ups or break ups, it's a non-stop ride of addictive fun.
