About the Show

Models of the Runway is an American reality television competition series created by Eli Holzman as a spin-off and companion show to Project Runway, which follows the weekly design show from the perspective of the competing models.

The series aired in the USA on Lifetime from 20 August, 2009 to 22 April, 2010. There are 28 half-hour episodes in two seasons.

Models of the Runway premiered in South Africa on DStv's M-Net Series channel on Friday 4 June 2010, at 20h30. It moved to DStv's Vuzu channel for the second season. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Season 2 premiered on Vuzu on Tuesday 30 August 2011, at 20h30. New episodes broadcast in a double bill, weekly. There are 14 episodes in the second and final season.

Synopsis

Models of the Runway offers viewers — for the first time ever — a no-holds-barred look at Project Runway - from the models' perspective.

The 16 women vie to be paired with the winning designer of Project Runway for a $25,000 cash prize and a fashion spread in Marie Claire magazine.

Hosted by supermodel and fashion maven Heidi Klum, Project Runway provides budding designers with an opportunity to launch their careers in fashion, under the watchful eye of mentor and Liz Claiborne Chief Creative Officer Tim Gunn.

Models of the Runway gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the reality competition — from the models' perspective. Experience the drama, anxiety, joys, tears and frustrations as the models themselves face elimination each week and compete for a cash prize and photo spread in Marie Claire magazine.

Produced by The Weinstein Company, Miramax Films, Bunim-Murray Productions and Full Picture Productions, Project Runway and Models of the Runway are executive produced by Bob and Harvey Weinstein, Co-Chairmen of The Weinstein Company, and Jon Murray and Sara Rea of Bunim-Murray Productions.

Heidi Klum, Desiree Gruber and Jane Cha of Full Picture also executive produce both series. Barbara Schneeweiss oversees the production on behalf of The Weinstein Company.
