On Afro Café this week (26 August):

Naima Kay and Jimmy Nevis headline Afro Café this Wednesday (26 August).

Jimmy Nevis is a 22-year-old vocalist from Mitchell's Plain in Cape Town who started taking his craft seriously during his high school years. This has paid off as his second album, The Masses, has audiences enjoying his music nationally and internationally. He shares songs from his debut and sophomore album on the Afro Café stage.

Naima Kay hit the music scene in 2012, and is already a Metro Award and SAMA award winner. Her voice has captured fans and critics alike, and there is nothing stopping her. Her sophomore album, Umsebenzi is already getting radio airplay, and she appears on Afro Café to showcase her voice, and star performance power.

The music video for the week is Kelly Khumalo’s Asine, released in 2014. The show also adds more flavour with a throwback from legendary Maskandi artist, Ihashi Elimhlophe.
