e.tv is looking to hire a publicist for the channel's publicity department.
Reporting to the Head: Publicity the key performance areas of the job will include:
- Produce written publicity material for the purposes of insertion into newspapers, magazines and other publications
- Writing press releases required by the department for general release to the media
- Produce written material and sourcing pictures for the company’s websites
- Produce interviews/profiles of actors and personalities
- Producing synopses of programmes required by the media
- Selecting, downloading and managing photos for e.tv programmes
- Interacting with media on a daily basis promoting e.tv
- Handling queries from Journalists regarding general information around e.tv and the eNews Channel
- Coaching other staff in your areas of expertise
- Proofing of programme schedules produced by the junior publicist
- Acting as back-up to the junior publicist who produces the programme schedules for publications
- Contributing your writing and organisational skills in other departments within the station as and when directed to do so
- Assisting with any other projects managed by the department
- You will be allocated publicity projects when new programmes come on air or when the head of department deems it necessary to run a programme publicity project
Requirements:
- Degree/diploma in public relations
- A strong track record of writing for media
- Good writing skills
- Must have worked in the publicity/public relations industry for at least 3 years
- Adherence to deadlines and correctness of information is essential
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Creativity
- Good interpersonal skills
- Keen eye for detail
- Need to have a natural understanding of what works visually in print and on television
