The National Film And Video Foundation (NFVF) is looking for a Communications Manager.
Reporting to: Head: Marketing and Public Affairs
Job Purpose: Develop, sustain and manage the implementation of communications strategies for the NFVF in line with set objectives. Creating awareness to all relevant stakeholders and enhancing the profile of the NFVF in the media and the market to ensure effective positioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, sustain and implement communications plans for the NFVF
- Maintain and enhance standards within the marketing department
- Implement the NFVF marketing strategy in line with NFVF objectives
- Develop systems for media communications
- Manage press releases, write editorial features and relevant articles
- Build and manage sustainable relationships, with the media
- Development of new media tools for the effective marketing and promotion of the NFVF
- Effective management of NFVF media tools
- Ensure maximum media coverage of the NFVF as an institution in major and niche publications
- Ensure that all key media/journalists have a working knowledge of the NFVF, its aims and objectives and its strategic goals
- Build the profile of the NFVF as the lead institution in the area of film
- Build the profile of NFVF leadership
- Ensure that NFVF’s strategic objectives are communicated to media and the market and understood by such stakeholders
- Promote a positive image of the NFVF in the industry as a whole
- Adherence to appropriate work ethic and ensure a positive image of the NFVF
- Be willing to represent the NFVF in national and international settings
- Perform any other relevant duties
Qualifications:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Media Communications, preferably a degree in Journalism
Requirements:
- 3 Years previous experience in Media and Communications
- Ability to write for different mediums and adhere to tight deadlines
- Excellent writing skills
- Act as a Spokesperson for the NFVF
- Analytical and problem solving ability
- Ability to communicate effectively at levels of management and different stakeholders
- Excellent Computer Skills
- Writing and maintaining of the website
