I've Been Behind The Scenes - Now I Know

This one is dedicated to Toxic for two main reasons. She's been missing my writing (I've been missing my writing too!), and secondly ... y'all need to read on.

I've recently been approached by JIKA MA JIKA  to come and be a choreographer on their show. My girl DJ Zinhle told the show's producers about me, gave them my contact details and she referred me, how could I have said no?

I'm not going to give the show away, but i'll say a little that I want to emphasise on. Guys it takes a lot of energy. And passion. Patience and total discipline. It takes a lot, a lot.

The theme was "career women interested in dance" so our show will air sometime in August -- woman's month, you know mos.

So by 9.30 me and my girls were at Redpepper Productions' studios. To create a show that needs an audience in the studio is even harder because without them, you can't really continue, right? So those girls and boys you normally see jumping up and down on Jika ma Jika actually play a huge role. Hats off.

Its tiring. It was tiring to be there the whole day. Anyone could have just walked out and left, because we had to wait for such a long time for the audience. But one automatically develops patience when one is doing what one loves. That's why I always stress the importance of passion for what we do.

So how does one measure passion? simple -- what is that one thing that you're willing to do without any remuneration? What is that thing that you could just do even if someone woke you up at 3am? Thats your passion -- are you pursuing it?

Everybody here would know that I'm crazy about dance and one of my goals for this year was to "dance some more" and so far I'm happy with the outcome. First it was Dans Dans Dans, then it was Dance Umbrella and now its Jika ma JIka. I didn't go to So you think you can dance, because I was choreographing a routine for Jika ma Jika, which i messed up in the end. I think I sucked big time, but my friends who went to the show with me think otherwise. I guess you just have to stay tuned to really find out.

Congrats Feza, Will def's be watching. Eish mara I'm sure they asked you their favourites:  a "tip of the week", and "who have you worked with", i hope you answered better than the people there usually do.

But once again, well done, it's really good to see people making their passions work for them.

Thembi needs to do someting constructive with her life. Her time is over. She is old and I don't take her seriously. I don't think anyone in the industry takes her seriously.

Yebantu! they tell you what to say for a TIP OF THE DAY, no wonder one of the kids, was confusing himself saying " When you buy something keep tha till slip so you can exchange the goods without any problems".....................that is so like Mpendulo,

still on Mpendulo. I get so embarassed looking on his body, I think body building suits better those people with more meat, he's so nasty to me.

Something is so wrong with that body.

Big up to you my sister, i wish you all the best in your dance career. I used to attend dance festivals myself cause i use to dance years ago, FNB Vita Dance Umbrella, JHB Dance Festival, Standard Bank National Art festival in Grahamstown, Makhufe in Bloemfontein etc. It's not easy, but hang in there cauz you are the only one who know where you wanna end up with the dance career. Hola Hooops

well i think jika majika should audition people first before putting them on stage becoz , its boring to watch a good dancer in the background while a bad dancer is wasting time on stage. but jokes aside Thembi is the best thing that has eva happened to Jika Majika , i min compared to their bad choreographer and her bony co -host. We have to appreciate what she does for that show. she is the only good thing to watch.
