The worst casting on TV

How would you describe this character? ....

Wentworth 11-03-2014 Pic 2

Can you imagine her as the terrifying, cruel head honcho inmate of a woman's prison?

NO!!

I caught the first episode of the new prison drama Wentworth recently and I refuse to continue watching because of the highly problematic chick above.

The series started on M-Net Series Showcase two Sundays ago (2 March at 21h00) and it's a re-imagining of an Aussie series called Prisoner - about a woman's prison.

The chick in the picture is Franky, played by Aussie actress Nicole da Silva. Franky's one of two women who rule the prison with an iron fist.

The huge problem with her is that it's completely unbelievable that she could ever inspire terror in other prisoners. When you see her in action and moving it's even worse - she's 200% unconvincing.

At first I thought it was a deliberate choice on the part of the producers to show that all sorts of people can end up ruling a prison but even when you try to take that into account she isn't convincing at all.

She also makes too many stereotypical acting choices to try to look mean - crossing her arms, trying to look fierce which filled me with cringe. Everyone else on the show suits their roles which makes her even more bizarre.

In nutshell she really is the worst casting I've seen in forever. Who's yours? Are you watching anything where there's someone who's all kinds of wrong for the role?

I dont see a problem with the new charlie except her irritating voice. I also think Matshidiso on muvhango. The woman cant act at all. She does lot of pausing as if she forgets her script. I think she was chosen because of beauty and not her abilility to act
