Charlize and Sean Penn snapped lip-locking at the weekend.

I've tried ... honestly I have but I just can't
not get irritated by Charlize Theron.
All the news about Charlize and Sean Penn's Hollymance (Hollywood romance) has been driving me round the twist and I'm relieved because now I know why.
Each time I see a story about it I've felt annoyed and irritated and haven't been sure why but after giving it lots of thought I've realised that it definitely has to do with Charlize's accent and the fact that she doesn't speak in a South African accent when she isn't acting. I keep picturing her speaking in an American accent to Sean Penn.
I've felt the irritation before, tried to get it to stop but it just won't go away. It has to do with the fact that other Hollywood stars who come from other countries speak in their original accents during interviews and so on e.g. Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Hugh Laurie etc.
I can't get my head around why Charlize doesn't do the same. She still speaks Afrikaans when she visits so has her South African accent really disappeared? Or has she deliberately lost it because she feels she wouldn't be as big a star if she did? No other Hollywood A-lister speaks in a South African accent in real life so is this why she doesn't?
It raises so many questions ... would she be such an A-lister if she did? Would she have achieved the success she has? I'm sure she would have but then I don't understand why she doesn't. Surely it would make her more unique if she did?
I honestly don't know ... what do you think? Would she be such a big star in Hollywood if she spoke in a South African accent?
