First the SABC ditched The Big Debate two days before the Season 5 premiere on SABC2, citing a multitude of wordy policies as the "reason". Then, the Right2Know Campaign picketed outside the SABC for media freedom and the treatment of the show.
Now, e.tv and eNCA have snatched up the show in the most logical conclusion to the chaos.
Their decision is clearly a sign of their solidarity with the show and it's principles as well as good business sense i.e they're making the most of the hype surrounding SABC's canning of the property.
In the heat of the conflicts surrounding the show there was an explosion of sentiment that the show move to e.tv so it's clear that many viewers want it to continue on an e platform.
The new season premieres on eNCA next Tuesday (19 November) at 21h00. It premieres on e.tv on Sunday, 5 January 2014 at 10h00.
