He's haunted Jefferson Sibeko for years, we've heard about his legend for a year-and-a-half through the blaze of multiple storylines and a studio fire and now we'll be meeting him for the first time.

TVSA can exclusively reveal that stalwart talent Lindani Nkosi arrives on Isidingo on Friday, 28 September in the role of Lincoln Sibeko:

Lincoln Sibeko 5

Lincoln 1
An exclusive first look at Lincoln's scenes.

As you know, Isidingo's been on damage control as a result of the fire that struck the soapie's set in June. Over the past few weeks the show's taken the action outside of the studios to become a mini-series involving the deadly epidemic that's sent the Deep into quarantine.

The sets have now been rebuilt, the show's back in studio and Lincoln's arrival marks the spark of new storylines that take effect in October. Key story arcs include Jefferson's conficts and troubles surrounding Lincoln's sudden arrival, dark secrets (obviously) and a manipulation of the truth by Lincoln and Frank.

According to Isidingo's Executive Producer Pumla Hopa, many viewers have been asking for Lincoln to be part of the action so the show's introducing him as a response to requests.

If you're a Generations fan too you'll know that Lindani's no stranger to soapieville - he played Thulani on the show. He's also very well known for playing Nelson Mandela in the film Drum.

More recently he played Cyril Ramaphosa in the TV movie Mrs Mandela and he plays mining magnate Malcolm Phiri in the new movie Zama Zama, which was released in August this year.

He's played signature characters in numerous TV series including Soul City, Zero Tolerance, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency and 90 Plein Street, where he played S'fiso Ngema, an MP from a small Pan-Africanist Party.

He's also an accomplished theatre actor and dancer.  He's a founder member of The Whizz Dancers where he did African, Jazz, Ballet and Contremporary Dance; as well as the Forgotten Angle Company, specialising in Physical Theatre Movement.

Here's the inside scoop on Lincoln from the show's official character bible:

As the older brother to Jefferson and the father of Nikiwe and Ntando, struggle hero Lincoln Sibeko is a roving South African Special Envoy to the United Nations.

He is around the age of 50-55 years old, is charismatic, has a sweeping sense of humour, and is totally engaging in his dealings with people, which is not to say that he does not have a ruthless streak, and an opportunistic angle to his character, and will use connections, power and influence to get what he wants.

Lincoln is based in New York; his wife died when Nikiwe was in her teens; he has not remarried since.

When Lincoln arrives on the Deep he turns Jefferson’s life upside down. What you see is not always what you get with Lincoln Sibeko …

For more, keep a lookout on TVSA for the Isidingo teasers for October - coming soon!

Lincoln is a very wealthy man who stays in New York, why is he wearing those clothes? The jacket does not match the pants.

I'm not impressed with Lindani Nkois.
Does South Africa not have any actors? Seriously!

I agree with the outfit, brown nogals, no man!!!!!!!!!!!

They should dress  the part his playing, this man always looks so ashen in every soapie he stars in!

All the Sibekos dress professionally and stylish! He doesn't fit the Sibeko name!

sorry!

Finally Lincoln has arrived not just a voice ......but honestly he does not fit the mental image I had of him....he lacks the Sibeko class.  Isidingo writers are brillant but your casting agents are disappointing. They all need to have their eyes tested.

The out of studio story line has been the most awful story line EVER. Sies man! Yesterday when I watched seasoned actors doing those stupid things they were doing I wondered what was going through the mind of the scriptwriter when they wrote that nonsense! Someone must ping me when the real story line comes back

I think this Lincoln character fits the bill, he is handsome like all Sibeko men but I can't comment about the dress code. Some loaded people dress modestly that you will not think that they have more than 6 digits in the bank.
