TVSA can reveal that the drama series
Skeem Saam has been signed for a second season.
The 13-episode freshman series debuted on SABC1 in October last year and created a strong stir in
the ratings, attracting over 5 million viewers per episode.
The series is produced by PEU Communication Solutions for SABC Education and explores the conflicts faced by three teenagers who's lives are changed forever after a hit and run accident sends shockwaves through their Limpopo community.
The new season will be executively produced by series creator Winnie Serite, who produced the first season with David Brown who served as advisor. Winnie, who's worked on various shows including
Isidingo,
Muvhango and
Zero Tolerance, will be producing the new season solo.
The series stars
Clement Maosa,
Cornet Mamabolo and
Patrick Seleka, along with industry stalwarts
Harriet Manamela and
Africa Tsoai.
