It seems no-one enjoys their science fiction stirred with comedy because ABC's sci-fi/dramedy
No Ordinary Family has been canned.
The series stars
Michael Chiklis (The Shield, LA Law) and
Julie Benz (Angel, Dexter) and centres round a family who discover that they have supernatural abilities after they survive a plane crash.
There has been international speculation about the cancellation of the show but ABC has remained silent on the subject, announcing no news about either a second season renewal or cancellation.
Today an industry insider told TVSA that the series has indeed been cancelled. The first season was also cut by two episodes: the original order was for 22 episodes and only 20 were made.
It aired on ABC in the US and on M-Net Series in South Africa. In South Africa it ended two weeks earlier than scheduled because of the two episode cut and was replaced by an early premiere of
Men Of A Certain Age 2 on Monday, 25 April.
