SABC1 has confirmed that there's another chance for boomblechops to boogy while losing weight.
The channel has ordered a second season of the reality weight-loss series
Dance Your Butt Off, with a scheduled premiere date of Tuesday, 14 June. It returns in a new timeslot at 21h00.
The first season aired on the channel on Tuesdays at 18h30, from late October 2010 to 4 January 2011. It was won by 26-year old Nkosana Bembe, who lost a total of 29.8 kg's over the three months.
The show wasn't a ratings hit for SABC1, failing to reach the channel's
weekly Top 10 shows in the build-up to the finale. It was consistently beaten by series such as Zone 14, Jika Majika and Intersexions.
It was also in a ratings battle with the channel's early evening Saturday night series
Ambush: the two shows alternated at being SABC1's top reality fodder. Both had weeks where they
beat the other so it's interesting that the channel has decided to renew it.
Was the timeslot an issue? Will it do better at 21h00?
