Phil interviewing actor Fana Mokoena during Class Act, Season 1.

phil_150_215Fab news! ... TVSA blogger Phil Mphela has landed a double-whammy role on a new, second season of SABC1's acting reality show Class Act.

Phil, who's popularly known on TVSA as Blaqueboi, covered the first season of the show extensively last year.

He blogged the live shows on TVSA, critiqued performances and interviewed the contestants, creators and celebrity judges.

The show was so impressed with it his take on it all that he's been signed as a field presenter on the new season and will also be the online face for the series.

On the show: he'll be travelling the country during the auditions, chat to hopefuls, dish the behind-the-scenes goss of the live shows and deliver commentary as the competition unfolds.

Online: he'll be covering it all, both on his TVSA blog Blaques Korner and on his own newly launched website www.PhilMphela.com.

The season premieres on Saturday, 23 April and will once more be hosted by actor Kenneth Nkosi. News about the audition dates and venues will be announced round the country this week. We'll keep you posted as soon as we have the details.

In the meantime we'd like to congratulate Phil and wish him all the best. We'll catch you on TV!

Wow... let this be a lesson to all aspiring bloggers. If you write objectively and are good at it the right people will notice. People underestimate the influence this site has on the industry.

Sadly bloggers tend to wanna be controversial all the time so that they can score more comments on their articles while pissing people off. But if you criticise objectively, you don't just become a blogger like everybody, you become someone industry people will take seriously.

Congrats Phil. We always knew you were destined for great thing. I'm very proud of you but I am not surprised. As someone who works with brands I liked the way you treated your work here as a brand, now you getting paid for it. "online face of Class Act" lol.

Who said you can't create your own job?

Ditto, Deco. Hence I said inspiring. All these people who moan about not having job opportunities are just lazy. Imagine someone who started writing for fun is now getting paid for it. Im inspired.

Thank you so so so much guys. You can't get anywhere in this industry by yourself. Someone has to believe in you or your talent for you to get the opportunity to share that with the nation. I have said this many times that I owe everything bit of success I get in this industry to your support.

Wicked!!! All the best man. I'm just curious what your haters must be thinking now. I told you a while back when you were being attacked and called names that you will rise above all that and make a mark in this business. Well Blaq, here we are.
If you continue to be as honest and real as you are. This will only be the beginning.

You will hit some few low points along the way but always remember that you are now a pioneer. When you fall just get up, laugh it off and continue to rise. BTW I liked your article about Minnie. I hope she read it and  is making some changes in her career. It's about time that young South Africans in this industry use their names as brands like Deco said. You know I am in advertising, I too was very impressed by how you moulded your name as a brand.
