Popularly known as Bassie, Basetsana Kumalo is the first black Miss South Africa, a beacon of hope at the time of our democracy’s infancy.
She has held steadfast in her promise to use the opportunities presented by the title, to uplift and contribute to the community around her. Today she is a multi-faceted business woman, dabbling in TV production, cosmetics and her own fashion line.
