Coco Mademoiselle On: Wednesday, 03 October at 19:00
Gabrielle Coco Chanel was a woman with many secrets and facades. A woman who revealed a completely different personality depending on who she was talking to and what situation she was in. For some, she was Coco and for others, she was Mademoiselle Chanel.
This Coco Mademoiselle advertising film takes up a theme of traveling and multiple personalities. Keira Knightley plays the female lead. She leaves a luxurious, baroque style apartment to go to the ultra-modern Palais de Tokyo. Between these two places, she goes through her mirror-lined walkin closet - a reference to the famous stairway on the rue Cambon. This breaks up and multiplies her image and personality.
‘Coco Mademoiselle’ is a very strong image of an autonomous woman and also a homage to Coco Chanel, who made herself into who she was. Directed by Joe Wright.
