This blog was inspired be a show on Kaya fm last Wednesday night. Masechaba Moshoeshoe (the host) had a guest Sindi* who has been tormented by ‘something’. I caught the show in the middle but the bit that I did hear was that one of the experiences Sindi has had, I have also had. Although not to the same extent, but I could relate to what she was saying.
Sindi says when she is sleeping she has a dream that something is pressing here down, and she tries to wake up, and she cannot, she tries to scream and she cannot. This has happened to me a number of times, and I think I stay under the ‘spell’ for 2-3 minutes then I wake up. It’s not a pleasant experience, but when it is about to happen, I feel drowsy, then I go ‘under’, then this ‘thing’ presses down on me, and I try to wake up and I can’t.
Sindi’s experience does not end with the ‘pressing down’, for her this thing has sex with her, and she says it’s the best sex she’s ever had. Although she says ‘no’ to it, but when it happens she can’t stop it. She says she wakes up in the morning feeling tired and lubricated. She says the after effects of this ‘sex’ is that she has a discharge – a foul smelling one and nothing she does makes it better. Masechaba asked her if she’s been to see a gynaecologist, and unfortunately she has not. So it’s not clear whether this smell is from having sex with this thing or if she has a problem vele…
This thing has been tormenting Sindi for 17 yrs, and for her, it’s something that has become part of her life. The other experience she has with this ‘thing’ is that she feels it sitting next to her or sometimes like someone is following her and when she looks back, there’s no one. Sindi has tried to tell her mom about her experience, but her mom brushed it off and it’s only recently she told her friend about it and her friend referred her to a church that prayed with her and the thing ‘broke’ up with her and she has not had that experience since.
I was surprised/ overwhelmed by a number of callers who confirmed having similar experiences. And all of them say they are ashamed of talking about it. Someone sms’d in and said that there’s something called a spirit husband and suggested that’s what Sindi had experienced. Apparently this comes about through witchcraft. The result of having a spirit husband/wife is that you cannot keep a man/woman. You can attract them, but soon, the relationship that looked promising just ends. Sindi and other callers confirmed this.
Anyhow, so it got me wondering if any of you bloggers have had any of these experiences. For me it was something pressing down on me (it has since stopped, which I believe is a result of fasting and praying). Have you experienced the ‘having sex in your dreams’ with something/someone you don’t know? Apparently sex in dreams is not just wet dreams; you could be having sex with a tokoloshe. This experience does not happen to women only, a guy called in and said, he’s had a sexual experience in his dreams – and this was not the regular wet dream.
