On Thursday morning I posted on my Facebook and Twitter statuses that I was going into the house for 1 night to “test drive” it for the actual contestants, but come Sunday evening, people were asking me how come I was not in the House. I gave up!
Moving right along…
On arrival at the MultiChoice offices, we had to surrender our phones and all electronics. We were informed that we could bring musical instruments into the house, so I brought my iPod.
Blonde moment Wrong move. I also had to surrender it. (I still consider an iPod a musical instrument)
Once we entered the house, we were blown away by the extraordinary décor. From the garden’s radiant red walls and garden couches; to the house, where the kitchen, living room and bathroom were magnificently designed to the tee, including the serviettes. The colour scheme was absolutely mind blowing. I would have loved to steal the Pink twin Fridges. Too cute.

We arrived in the house at about 10am. I was with the craziest 10 people ever. From the word go we clicked like the letter x. Well, atleast that’s the vibe I got.
Pruluv doing whatever it is I was doing with my hands and talking forever
Pruluv trying to keep a straight face after almost falling off the chair. Hahaha...
We were “wired up” with mics the entire stay. From time to time, the Big Brother voice would come up “This is Big Brother, media mates please check your mics are on correctly.” Amazingly, I felt the cameras were not too distracting, it was just the thought of some stranger watching you the entire time that was rather unsettling.
Mpume and Munya changing batteries for the mics
Since none of us had breakfast, we began making eggs. Correction, we asked one of the guys, Munya to make all of us eggs, even though Biggie had prepared croissants, muffins and fruit. I jumped at the opportunity to make toast. That was my strategy to prove I made a contribution for the day. Hehehe…
Whilst we prepared, Biggie gave us a Task: Playing darts. Ironically the aim was not the bulls eye, but the upper parallel section. That was pretty interesting, and the girls won. Ok. Sbongile won.

And in no time, it was nominations time. We barely knew each other and already had to evict people. That was crazy! I got along with everyone so it took me forever to come up with names. Oh, that’s one of the most uncomfortable situations to be in. What’s more awkward is facing that person after nominating them. You can’t even tell them or explain. Damn!
Michelle and Clayton comparing pouts. Clearly the queen does it better.
We weren’t allowed to eat until Biggie said so. Well, that was too bad because we were too hungry, so Mpume and I ate; AND the world didn’t come to an end… The others ended up joining us. Hehe..
We felt rather foolish when a couple of minutes later Biggie delivered ample Debonairs pizza and Nandos. Most of the housemates (myself excluded. Lol) were kind of disappointed when we arrived in the storeroom to find food instead of booze. Tjo, you can’t separate people from their booze.

Whilst chilling and getting to know each other, Biggie’s voice came back up and we had another task. Volley Ball. We were all paired up and Philicity cleverly opted to be the Referee. I was paired with Mxo and we didn’t make a bad team, but Mpume and Mahap were too good. The tournament was over in about 15 minutes. The competitiveness kicked in (particularly from the guys); we ended up changing teams and played in groups of 3s, then the cheating began and it was chaotic fun. The games went on well into the evening.

We then had another task - to cook a 3 course meal. I tried by all means to escape but I was cornered into making desert. Philicity had to coach me throughout the process of making the apple pie. Yep, I’m not a
good cook. Philicity and Michelle, who love cooking, did a great job. The queen, Clayton, chose to chat away whilst the ladies worked away. So, not fair…
The best cook: Philicity
The booze arrived… and this is where I end the article. Sorry, but we made a deal. What happens in the Big Brother House stays there…. Hahaha…
The guitar boys: Munya, Danny and Kenton
Mxo playing his guitar
All I’ll reveal is that most of us slept for an hour; Kenton is boss when it comes to playing the guitar and singing; so is Daniel aka Danny, so is Munya and I think we know about Mxo.
On Friday morning we were woken up by the loud “When I woke up this morning, just thinking about the night before. TPure Suprise by UPZ - I love this song but not after an hour's sleep); We felt like death.
Moments later, the Joy Gym instructors waltzed in with “sunbeam flower” faces and informed us to prepare ourselves for the exercise session. That was the last thing we needed.
Some of the exercises we did: clowning around, making funny faces and laughing for no reason. This annoyed some of the media mates and it was absolutely hilarious to observe. At every interval we had to clap our hands whilst saying, "Very good, very good, Yeah” - Exactly like what kids in kindergarten/creche would do.
Biggie must have had enough of us because we were all evicted and had to leave immediately!
