Nonhle Thema's D&l advert

I havent written anything in ages but I needed to share my dissapointment while watching the Dark and Lovely Body Lotion advert yesterday,. Dont get me wrong I adore Nonhle, I have done phone interviews with her and she's the sweetest gal ever but hell no! Something is definetly wrong with that advert. All I saw was a kid (Let me not write the word that popped into my mind at that moment because I dont wanna offend her) like I said I might need her for an interview someday since she definitely going places.

All I saw in that advert was a 12 year old triying to sell me a body lotion I surely has never thought that Nonhle is so short, even the hands are so small. I dont know its just my observation but she just looked too short it was like I was watching a babyoil ad. What are your views bloggers????

Dont remember much about the tv advert but i saw the pics ad on True Love mag, its like they going for a more natural look on her but it doesn't really suit cos we know with the weaves and they give her that grown sexy gal look, but there with the pony tail she just looked like a pretty girl, but maybe thats their angle ke.

Lol Dali Beyonce looks like magogo manje. Dats Nonhle alryt. felfel I saw the ads on True Love too, those ones are okay coz you only see her there and she doesnt move or her height is not noticable like the pictures above for instance. Haai on TV its a different story, she looks like a 10 year old triying so hard to be a grown up.

Msoe, I cant comment as I have not seen the advert will be on the lookout for it though

Hawu bloggers this ad was shown on prime time yesterday (kudalal i-generations nogal) It was the first time I saw it 2 but do check it out so you will see what I mean.

But guys, if she looks like a "child" then doesn't that mean ukuthi they've achieved what they wanted to do coz women always want to look younger so maybe some will see how young Nonhle looks and go buy the lotion....heheh.

I can agree with you there BS but no man its not like most people know how old is she. A 30 something person would think, 'this product is for my 15 yr old". I would understand if they put Lillian Dube whom we know has wrinkles that bamtshengise esene-youthfull look than I would totally agree but this. No way!

BS, You cant be Lillian Dube's age and not have wrinkles neva! Even if you use Elizabeth Arden less wrinkles cream with added what what, soze sana. they are like stratch marks they are there whether you like it or not.

That explains the American accent but I dont think it goes with the image the Dark and Lovely people are triying to potray. Whats the use of us being excited that finally international brands are using 'african faces' at last if those same people would look like, talk like, even the ads shot like they are ad's from America? I give credit to Elizabeth Arden thou for using Lerato as their face and not change the complexion of her skin and her hair like they did on Beyonce giving her long hair and whitening her complexion. That is what we want to see and be proud of.

Like Karabo, we all know she never had skin problem but hai sana they lied.

If they want 2 convince me, they should use Pelo from Muvhango then i will comment about that product.

You know what Nonhle has come from far.........
And I mean from a girl who used to work at eastgate shopping centre to the next big thing, dominating out screens and rubbing shoulders with the A-listers, she has always been portrayed as this beautiful woman who oozes sex appeal and each time you saw her on Tv you immediately think WOW!
But know, in this ad, instead of giving her a greater platform (which she already possess) they just brought her down a step less because like Msoe explained she looks like a 15 year old Yo-Tv presenter trying to sell their product.
Where is the long hair, Beyonce outfits, Rihanna sex appeal?
I mean I am not convinced...................AT ALL!

Yhu hai i saw the lotion at Spar maobane, it looks horrible yazi, even a bottle of Dawn looks better. I think they used the same bottle they use for iStameta but theirs is purple-ish,lol

Mina I don't know Nonhle.....................I only saw her pic on the True Love Magazine..........and tried to memorize the things that i'll use to notice her, but hhayikhona..............she's nje!

Like Basetsana's regret regarding her bad retail investment (when she launched her clothing line with Ackermans), Nonhle is going to regret her association with the Dark & Lovely Brand just as much. Gathering from the responses here, I don't think their product is getting the desired responses. I also recoiled at the magazine advert when i saw it in True Love the first time i saw it - I just got this image of me growing hair all over my body - sadly the tv advert didn't make me feel better. It doesn't matter who they use to try and convince me, I've made a pretty firm decision, i'm definitely NOT buying a lotion from Dark & Lovely.

I got a sample of this lotion from the True Love mag, the cocoa butter one. Got that thing smells horrible! Its like if uyigcobile uzolandelwa yizinyosi. I'm never eva gonna be convinced to buy Dark & Lovely body lotion ever!
