Warring in Warsaw
On 1 September, 1939, Germany invaded Poland, precipitating the Second World War. Five days later, South Africa joined the Allies in declaring war on Nazi Germany. In the many examples of heroism by South African soldiers in World War II, few surpass the exploits of the pilots who dropped supplies onto the streets of Warsaw. Carte Blanche travels to Poland, where SAAF bravery lives on.

Obie Oberholzer
This is the story of two men on one journey, 72 years apart. One of them is Dutch photojournalist Alphons Hustinx, who set sail for southern Africa in 1934 armed with a 35mm film camera and a spirit of adventure. The second man is Obie Oberholzer, one of South Africa’s best known photographers, also famous for his eccentricities. Carte Blanche takes a trip with them both.
