Coming up on Carte Blanche this Sunday (12 November):

Juju’s Day of Reckoning

Over the years, ANC youth league leader Julius Malema has become the face of controversial public utterances, prompting political observers to ponder his popularity.

He’s been depicted as everything from a bull in a china shop to a belligerent baby in nappies, yet he has a following and, reportedly, a fat bank account. With a resounding “guilty” verdict and his suspension from the party he repeatedly brought into disrepute, will he, like mavericks before him, fade into obscurity, or will Julius remain true to the ANC?

In a one-on-one interview recorded this week, Carte Blanche speaks to the fallen hero.

Producer: Este de Klerk
Presenter: Bongani Bingwa
Journalist: Amalia Christoforou & Leila Dougan

Wombs For Hire

Set to take over from China as the most populous country in the world, India is exporting one of the things it does best. The growing fertility tourism industry is offering hope to many childless couples because of affordable treatment, lenient regulations and willing surrogates. Carte Blanche travelled to India to find out more.

Producers: Nguni Productions

Dr Clean-up

He’s being called Dr Clean-up and he’s reduced the Eastern Cape health department’s budget deficit from R2.8-billion to R800-million.

Dr Siva Pillay is the Superintendent-General of Health in the province, doesn’t take home a salary, and is using his considerable business clout to turn the department around.

Maybe Eastern Cape State hospitals will eventually lose their reputation as those to which you’d definitely not want to be admitted. Carte Blanche met a man on a mission to expose the lazy and corrupt.

Producer: Bernadette Maguire
Presenter: Derek Watts

Carte Blanche is on M-Net on Sundays at 19h00.

I watched the Julius interview, and I must say he spoke a lot of truths regarding Economic Freedom. He raised some valid pertinent points regarding the issue.

I laughed when he said he walked most of the trip to Pretoria during the march. He claims that the police are the ones who insisted on him not walking the whole trip because they kept on going to him with information that he was under threat of a possible attack planned, so they did that to protect him!

He had me in stiches when he said he does not have Zuma's cell number although he has seen him carrying a cell phone...the guy really shem breathes politics.  What i don't get about him is that he was marching and the next minute he is in Mauritious.  "I love white people too much, they have a role to play".
