Last Wednesday we joined other cool kids to the streets and attended the Dramatic SAFTA’s Nominees launch held at the most used The Venue in Melrose Arch. The nominee’s announcement took so long that the place became so loud with noise like a shebeen. Some promising but lukewarm comedian whose name I’m yet to remember was the MC.
The event was actually great and the food and drinks flew like milk and honey, think Canaan. One thing I liked most about the event is that it pulled celebrities that seldom attend events. The Fergusons, Patrick Ndlovu aka Ntate Moloi from Zone 14, Katlego Danke, showed. The place was so celeb infested though, below are the few I managed to snap for us.
Bubu Mazibuko looking casual.
Nkuli Sibeko. So ever-friendly – the world needs more people like her.
Thandy Matlaila. I used to think this girl is wild and crazy, boy was I wrong. She’s actually one of the most well composed chikitas. She’s a lady.
New Singer Londiwe. The aura or happiness around this girl is great. With that attitude girl is gonna go places…
Dawn Matthews from Scandal.
Xoli Zondi (Zodwa) from Generations. It was the first time I came face to face with her, and girl is HOT!
Another Generations Actress Winnie Modise.
Chops from Gen posing with Inkaba’s Charmaine Mtinta.
Former City Cesla’ actress and Tbo Touch’s baby mama Thuli Thabethe. She’s so bubbly and hot its contagious.
Nolly Nolls and her boyfie posed for us. Thanks Nolls for understanding, phela it wasn’t easy to get them to pose together for this pic…
Zikhona Sodlaka refused to pose alone at first but ended up agreeing. Apparently TVSA bloggers aren’t so friendly with her. Please can nice things be said about Zikhona?
And I finally caught the tall Inkaba’s Nompilo Gwala with Charmaine Mtinta leaving the venue.
Thanks SAFTA’s for the invite and hopefully we also get another to the awards show. Next time can there be enough seats and noise-control facilities? Even if hiring someone with a gun to keep everyone quiet.
